Hello everyone

Post by orchard54 » Wed Apr 09, 2008 10:47 pm

Greetings everyone! I've been messing around with EQ2Emu and having a lot of fun so far. My interest in this project has peaked.
I played EQ1 the first 7 years it was out, and I've been playing EQ2 since Beta as well. I even ran my own EQ1 emulated server for quite a while.
I would love to become a part of this project and help in any way that I can. I don't have a whole lot of MySQL experience, but I do have "some" Visual Basic, C++ and C# coding experience. Although I am still learning a lot. I'm in my 2nd year of attending ITT Tech for Multi-Media / Game Design. As I have quite a bit of extra time on my hands, I would enjoy helping you guys in any way I can.
So Hello everyone :) and I hope to be talking with you all a lot more often.

Welcome, orchard! Download the source from the SVN, and dive in. While there is some basic functionality, you could find 100 things that aren't done yet (if you know Live EQ2 well enough). LE is currently re-working combat, and recently added Spells support. But there's still journals, skills, quests, doors, waypoints, TONs of things not done.
Grab the source, take a look. If you are still interested, talk to LE (prolly via PM?) to see about committing your additions.

John's got the right idea. Take a look at the source first.

Thank you :) and yes, I've already been taking a look at the source and plan on going to work on some things, see if I can figure it out and contribute what I can.
