I figured I would bring this up since I don't think it has been dealt with.
Starting back in the EoF expansion, quests now determine armor rewards for your class. What I mean by this is if you run through Darklight woods (Neriak starting Zone) as an Assassin, when you do quests with armor as a reward, it will only show you the rewards for scout classes- ie: chain armor. If you run through the same quests with a Necro, you will only see cloth rewards.
I think this might cause 2 problems:
1.) Parsing might not return all the quest rewards, only the ones for the archetype of your class.
2.) Is it possible to do this with our current quest scripts? If not, it may need to be added if we want questing to be live-like.

Let me add a note here: This is also true for vendors which sell class-specific skills. For example, a wizard can go to a vendor that sells melee skills, and that vendor will appear to have nothing for sale. As well, that same wizard can go to a caster skill vendor, and see only wizard spells available to buy.
However, I think a possible workaround could be that since we know all the skills each class is going to get, we can have class-specific vendors for skills and spells (or like in the pre-EoF dump all the skills of all the classes onto one vendor).
As for the quest rewards, a possible solution would be to check external sources (such as allakhazam) for the walkthroughs, and EQ2iDB for specific item details.

Aye, class-specific item rewards has indeed been considered, but we (content team) hadn't really pushed for support as we didn't have the proper items to apply anyway. It does need to be worked out, and likely can be by complicating our scripts with "if (class) then" statements.
As for merchants, you are right. There was some merchant work being done, but I think it fell through the cracks somewhere. Phase 1 of merchants will be to get them implemented, then we can tweak the list displays. Very good point.
