Still going thru patching... it has been a few years since I played.
Will I be able to play the wood elf I created and played on the pay-to-play Sony server, or will I have to start from scratch?

Yup scatman is right, you can only play through the login server here. You could eventually recreate the character on your own server, but the emulator is only in alpha.
You could always read around the forums, play with with creating a server and find bugs and new ideas while the the staff continue with the great work they have been doing.

Thanks, guys. And no problem... I can still name her Ilfirin and go from there.
Or... could be a chance to change some things I didn't like about her. Who knows!
Glad I came across the emulator; part of the reason I quit playing was because I had a hard time justifying the cost.
As for creating my own server? Erm... you might not want me to do that. Developer, I am not. I'll write for you, I'll edit for you, but if I started dabbling with the inner workings it might not turn out so well

NP.
OK, another question: Got in, figured out how to modify my .ini, etc.
Created my character but can't get into the server. Build says 5108.
Can I go backwards somehow if this isn't a build that's compatible? The computer spent easily 8 hours patching yesterday. Like I said, it's been a while.
As for the version 0.6, do I have to install or copy that somewhere to my EQII folder?
Thanks,
Ilfirin
