Ghost kick?

Post by John Adams » Sun Sep 28, 2008 2:45 pm

Just saw something I'd never seen before, and thought I would ask what this is.
On Tess' server console after someone logged off (could be coincidental):

Code: Select all

Removing connection
Login Server returned a fatal error: Ghost kick
Disabling reconnect.
69.60.121.221:91000: TCPConnection::RecvData(): Error: 10053
Is this saying my server no longer is allowing connections? Or the LS was simply reset?
Thanks!

Well I answered part of my own question. Seems I was not able to fetch my character info from TessEQ2 when I launched after this condition - wanted me to create a new toon. So I reset the server. Seems to allow connections fine.
I'd still like to know what a "Ghost kick" and "Disabling reconnect" means.

It means that another World was connecting to the Login server with the same account so it was dropping the connection from the old World as it thought the connection was a Ghost connection (meaning it was still active but should have been dropped).

Ohhhh, haha. Oops, yes. Well I somehow exceeded some table update limits again (not sure how) so I changed Dev to Live and got what I needed. I thought I did that hours apart, but maybe I am in a daze.
Thanks, that does explain it.
