Alright John, all the splitpaw zones have been added and we are currently at a total of 371 zones. You are free to push the updates to live.
One thing about the current zone list is that although all the safe locs are valid locs, they are not all correct. A good example of this is the splitpaw zones in which only 2 zone files are used, but each "zone" has a different starting point on a different level, so these will have to be worked on.
Below is a list of the zones I haven't added yet and will be done in my second pass. Several of these zones are merely houses with decorations or parts of bigger zones that are altered so I am gonna have to do some work to figure out what zone files they are using.
I am going to work on this list next. Any help to figure out the zone files for these zones is appreciated

John, since LE said he will be getting the emulator Live client compliant soon I am going to be adding the new exp05 zones to your database. I am also gonna take a quick look through the other zones i haven't figured out yet and see what i can do. Once this is done (prolly this weekend) if you could push out the zones table updates that would be great. If I am good, we might even be able to time it with the emulator's version 0.65 release.

Sounds like a plan. I was waiting til we sorted out the tSO support before doing anything more with the zones table. The pending update would DROP the old zones and re-create a new one with all of your hard work. I had planned for this in 0.7, but if 0.6.5 will support tSO, we can do it now.
Hopefully everyone is still keeping backups of their databases, so when major updates like this happen, it doesn't screw up anything custom they may have done.

Re: Task: Zone "Friendly" Names
Zexis, just FYI - I am adding zones for the Frostfell season to the TessDB.
Something I had been meaning to ask for some time was about the player housing zones. The "description" fields do not match the live game descriptions, and has always been a headache for me to parse data. Ie., freeport "five room house, version 1" you have named as "Freeport: 5 Room House" or something similar.
Unless you had some reason to name these like this, I'd like to switch them back to the default name I get from parsing the logs - so I can find where the data goes easier. Let me know what you think.
Code: Select all
insert into zones (id, name, file, description, safe_x, safe_y, safe_z, underworld, always_loaded, city_zone, min_status, min_level, start_zone) values (411, 'IcyKeep','permafrost','The Icy Keep (Easy)','-49.07','16','208','-1e+06','0','0','0','0','');
insert into zones (id, name, file, description, safe_x, safe_y, safe_z, underworld, always_loaded, city_zone, min_status, min_level, start_zone) values (412, 'Frostfell2','everfrost_frostfell','Frostfell Wonderland Village 2','65','-3','-1200','-1e+06','0','0','0','0','');
insert into zones (id, name, file, description, safe_x, safe_y, safe_z, underworld, always_loaded, city_zone, min_status, min_level, start_zone) values (413, 'TheFuture','everfrost_frostfell','The Future','-502.92','-6','-355.49','-1e+06','0','0','0','0','');
insert into zones (id, name, file, description, safe_x, safe_y, safe_z, underworld, always_loaded, city_zone, min_status, min_level, start_zone) values (414, 'KritchatsHouse','fprt_ph_1r01','Bobby Kritchat\'s House','-6.37','0.7','-13.3','-1e+06','0','0','0','0','');
insert into zones (id, name, file, description, safe_x, safe_y, safe_z, underworld, always_loaded, city_zone, min_status, min_level, start_zone) values (415, 'McScrooglesPast','qey_epic03_village03_ph','McScroogle\'s Past','15.57','-0.5','-9.18','-1e+06','0','0','0','0','');
insert into zones (id, name, file, description, safe_x, safe_y, safe_z, underworld, always_loaded, city_zone, min_status, min_level, start_zone) values (416, 'McScrooglesBoudoir','qey_ph_1r01','Mr. McScroogle\'s Boudoir','-6.21','0','-0.2','-1e+06','0','0','0','0','');
insert into zones (id, name, file, description, safe_x, safe_y, safe_z, underworld, always_loaded, city_zone, min_status, min_level, start_zone) values (417, 'McScroogleHQ','exp03_dun_klakanon_epic01_menace','McScroogle Corp. HQ','129','24','-66.5','-1e+06','0','0','0','0','');Unless you had some reason to name these like this, I'd like to switch them back to the default name I get from parsing the logs - so I can find where the data goes easier. Re: Task: Zone "Friendly" Names
LOL John,
I just parsed those the other day to do exactly what you are doing! Great minds and all that I guess... You can delete IDs 43 and 44 out of the database since they are old attempts at the Frostfell data that is incorrect. In addition to that, McScroogle's Past (qey_epic03_village03_ph) was already in the database as an unidentified zone (ID 210). You might want to delete that. You should also rename Frostfell2, just Frostfell and remove the 2 from the end of the description (you must have zoned into the second instance of the zone).
As far as the inn rooms are concerned, the naming scheme you refer to isn't uniform across all the cities (for instance, in neriak, the houses are all "nerian residence", or "nerian apartment"). I named them the way i did for uniformities sake. If you would like to add the ", version 1/2/3" to the ends of the names feel free, but not all of the cities use that nomenclature (Only Qeynos and Freeport do if i recall).
In addition to that, in the live game, when you zone into you house, the displayed zone name is "%Charactername%'s Inn Room/Residence/Apartment", not "five room house, version 1". Granted for some reason on live this function only seems to work 50% of the time, but i figured that we would be doing the same (hopefully not the 50% part
), placing less emphasis on the actual zone name in the database.

Re: Task: Zone "Friendly" Names
The name of the zone is "2 room apartment version 1" etc when you are taking a tour of the house. Otherwise, it's <character name>'s 2 room apartment or whatever.

Re: Task: Zone "Friendly" Names
Ahh, well that explains the differing names for sure. How I'd like to see housing named is exactly how you would see it by taking a tour of said house on Live, so I went into all versions of all housing on live for Qeynos and Freeport (did not do the other cities) and changed our "description" fields to match. Once player housing is implemented, we can substitute 'description' with the players name easily during the zoning in.Scatman wrote:The name of the zone is "2 room apartment version 1" etc when you are taking a tour of the house. Sorry Zexis if you think this is incorrect... but my reasoning is that what I get from the collected data does not match "Freeport: 1 Room Apartment" for instance, and I have to go into the raw_zones table and change the name of the zone_desc in order to directly match up for a -populate. In fact, there are a lot of zones (like instances) that have odd naming. Like Bloodskull Valley or Firemyst Gully. These zones capture as plain names, but on our side we're stuffing the instance/quest name onto it - which I guess is fine. Hey, you did 400+ zone names, and I am only questioning a dozen!! That's awesome! lol
Just letting you know if you see something change, it's probably me fiddling around with parsing some data and not getting expected results.

Re: Task: Zone "Friendly" Names
Hey man, its your database
As far as the instances go... the problem with them is live is remarkably un-consistent. Quite often, live refers to zones differently in different places. This can be as simple as refering to the zone as "The Commonlands" when zoning in, but just as "Commonlands" in the guild member location list, down to totally different zone names in different places (the new Korsha zone in tSO is an example of this). And I am not talking about in conversations. The names I used are taken from from various sources, primarily Allakhzam and EQ2 Wikia, since many of them can't just be zoned into and a quest access only.

It is OUR database, my friend.
If you feel the names you have entered are accurate to most of what everyone will experience in game, we can certainly leave them as you had them. No offense in my changing things around to make life easier for me lol... I can make a cross-reference table or something if it gets to be more of a pain.
I will restore your original names after today's data processing, and I'll just work with an offline DB from here out.
