What server works for you?

Post by blueeyedtimothy » Wed Nov 26, 2008 10:47 am

I have the 5253L client and I can't seem to connect to the servers. I know the servers are not in their prime, so I'm not complaining or anything, just curious on if I'm doing something, or is it everyone.
I can Connect to the Tess server, but can't leave Queen's Island to get to Freeport (a level restriction way beyond attainable on the island). Though I can go to Qeynos if I'm good.

On Tess, there should be no level restrictions leaving the island. You talked to Captain Varlos? I'll have to check it, in case the new client structures changed enough to prohibit normal behavior.
Thanks for the report.

There are likely 2 causes for this.
1) there is currently a diabolical bug that is crashing the server when you zone
2) you are playing a race that should not be on the Queen's Colony, but the Outpost of the Overlord. The script is written to just handle "good" races from the Queen's Colony, and "evil" races from the Outpost.
If you created an Evil character but ended up on the Queen's Colony, let me know because that is a DB bug, likely. Thanks again!

Sorry meant Outpost....just tried to do it again and this time it let me past the level restriction. Got stuck in loading screen and now it tells me I still have a character in the game. Soo I'll wait on that one.
Does Timerous Deep work cause I made a gnome necromancer but the game didn't take me there? Was on Queens Colony and then it took me to Baubbleshire from the Qeynos guy boat.

Are you sure you are selecting TessEQ2 as your server? I just made a gnome necro, and am standing in timorous deep.
And I have never seen a "you already have a character in game"... that's a new one. I didn't think we had any restrictions on multiple characters in game at once.

Maybe it was a bug, but my gnome necromancer is in baubbleshire.
Ya its still saying I cant log into your server cause I already have a character in game.
Edit: It lets me in now, and I made another Gnome Necro and it took me to Tim deep

I'm clad you got in, but this message has me curious. When LE reads this maybe he can tell us if there is new Loginserver functionality (or something I never knew about) related to only allowing one character online per account? I guess I never tried it, to be honest heh.
What else is weird is that my server has the crash attacks, so it's been restarted numerous times since you first mentioned it. So apparently it's not Tess that's blocking you.
LE?

This was added a little while back. If you crash, the client in game should be disconnected within a minute or so. This should be working correctly.

That's awesome, I had no idea ~blush~
I am such an automaton, I never even tried logging in twice from the same account. :) And everytime I crash, I spend so much time gathering potential bug info, I guess my account clears before I try again.
