"Recall" abilities
Most of our spells/abilities are tied to the characters `class_id`. Some abilities are "common" for all player classes, like Sprint. One I just remembered are the Recalls that take you back to your faction city bind point: "Call of the Overlord" and "Call of Qeynos".
I am going to make them "Commoner" spells that everyone gets, but in starting_spells when a character is created, limiting it by race_id/class_id combos (as intended).
This raised yet another question - are any other "teleportation" type spells restricted in this manner, or only these 2 "racial" teleports?
Thanks

Re: "Recall" abilities
There is also "Call to Guild Hall" now which is obtained from clicking a special item in the guild's hall.
Also keep in mind that there is a bind ability that each player starts with that lets you change the city recall point to anywhere within the main city or its suburbs.

Re: "Recall" abilities
Yeah I think we have two threads going on Recall, one from Zcoretri and this one.
So "bind" is no longer a quest that you have to do to acquire the Set Recall Point ability? Guess I can remove that one from my journal from 3 years ago.

Re: "Recall" abilities
No they changed that a little while ago. But you actually don't get it when you start the game; that includes the city recall ability as well. You get it when you actually leave the island.
For Kelethin, you get the recall ability after you leave the lowbie area and do the kelethin citizenship quest. i don't remember when you get it when you start in the Gorowyn or Neriak areas.

Re: "Recall" abilities
Is that a spell? I thought you used an item to use that. I don't remember though.
Also while we're on the subject of teleportation, may as well list Call of the Hero as well, the level 52 Conjuror ancient teachings spell, requires a glowing pearl for a spell component.

Re: "Recall" abilities
CotH is just a class spell/ability though, right? This was really about those general abilities everyone gets and how to classify them.
I see you guys think you get Call of ________ under very different circumstances depending what your newbie area is... which is just crap, SOE. Can you do one thing consistent, huh? I thought it was level 5 myself, but apparently not. Or is it level 5 when you are in the 3 noob areas that are NOT the queens/overlords islands? Sigh... i think they do this on purpose, to make me insane.

Re: "Recall" abilities
I'm pretty sure you do have to do the citizenship quest to gain the Call of the WhatNotCity. Unless they changed it thats the way it was last time I played on Live.

Re: "Recall" abilities
The citizenship quests don't exist like they used to. They changed that long ago. You remember, the one where you had to grab an application from the sign. Yeah that isn't there anymore. For qeynos/freeport, you automatically gain citizenship when you leave the lowbie island, if you want to think of it like that.
The only "citizenship" quest you do now is for Kelethin. It's from some lady just outside the lowbie area next to a house.
EDIT: You might actually have to do a quest or two for Neriak...I don't remember off the top of my head. Gorowyn I really have no idea how that one works.

Re: "Recall" abilities
You are correct, Nalandial. Freeport/Qeynos, no more citizenship to gain access to the main city - which is actually too bad, because I rather enjoyed the entire philosophy behind that quest line. If I end up running a server when this is all done, I'll likely put that back in, cuz it made sense. Why SOE dumbs everything down, I have no idea.

Re: "Recall" abilities
Ya I liked that too about the citizenship quests I was also fond of the class quests too , but alot of people complained about it for so long and i guess soe thought it was more of a punishment to people who make lots of alts then a feature however I do not share that view
