added a -loadfactions [database] function I still need to tweek it some more but it will populate your database with the raw_factions using the faction_id,name,category,description.

using those big descriptions in csv files and importing them back in was causing major dataloss so i striked out that part of my other post.

Alfa, my personal translator. :)

Can you spin these into English for me? I am way too lazy to use an online translator =)

Code: Select all

La brigade de Gwalnax
Kunark
La brigade de Gwalnax est chargée des opérations clandestines di'zokianes à Kunark. Elle n’a plus confiance dans la famille régnante de Chardok.
This is "The Gwalnax Brigade", I think. Can you translate the description?

Code: Select all

Le Tribunal
Déité	<-- wtf?
La faveur du Tribunal, le Conseil de Justice.
This is simply, The Tribunal. Yes?

Thx

Yes is The Gwalnax Brigade

The Gwalnax Brigade is in charge of di'zok's clandestine operations in Kunark. They no longer trust in Chardok ragnante family

Le Tribunal = The Tribunal

Déité = Diété = Diety

La faveur du Tribunal, le Conseil de Justice. = Favor of The Tribunal, Council of Justice
Fight with me... Or die, like the rest.

Scatman (and others),

When we're creating custom factions that do not affect players (ie., trying to get defenders to aggro sapswill invaders), I think we should either name the faction something obvious; EQ2Emu_FactionName, or at least set the faction Category to EQ2Emu. That might keep things clear as to what faction is ours, and what is for EQ2 Live emulation.

Thoughts?

Sounds like a good idea to me.

(ie., trying to get defenders to aggro sapswill invaders)
Is this the mobs on the newbie islands?
Possibly name the faction after the area/zone?
Outpost of the Overlord etc etc ( play so many evils, can never rememeber Qeynos island name  )
aka..Woody
Lilrat Gnome Assassin...poking my nose into as much as possible
Stok Ogre Bruiser... Bashing my way round the place
Flekrad DarkElf Shadowknight .... Being an Inky

Yeah, we could probably be even more generic with the faction 'name' since players will never see it. If the spawns that hate each other exist out of each others aggro range, we could essentially call them EQ2EmuGeneric1 and 2 for that matter.

But I do like the idea of factions by zone - it might create too many in the end (400+ zones x 2!)
