Minilogin is the only new component, that's why we're asking if it is Minilogin. Our clients connect via public LS to the same exact EXE with no issues. Connecting through Minilogin, there is a crash. I think that is simple math. :)

I like the error though.. Bogus data heh. Cute.

Code: Select all

build="SOEBuild=5280L" version="SOEVersionString=2008/12/2 16:02:18" build_type="USER OPTIMIZED" ls_address="none" zone="tutorial_island02" loc="-17.24  -5.40 223.20" performance="4" stack="004ea388 0094a63e "

Seriously? That is the client I have been using since it became compatible, with no issues at all. That is really odd.

Yeah.. I can still use 5016L fine, but I have problems with 5280L. 5275L crashes as well (was released the day before 5280L).

Update to the latest on SVN and give the live client a try.

What if I don't have a LAN ip address?

I am having trouble getting this set up and working on my standalone laptop running Windows Vista. World is not connecting the minilogin, getting error saying it can't resolve the address. Any suggestions?

I gave the dev teams a minilogin "repack" that works turn-key, all you have to do is point your client to it (127.0.0.1).

If it doesn't work, I need to know about it. But this works for everyone I asked to try it who actually did.

Edit: if it's a newer client than 5016 or whatever the original minilogin supported, you just have to update the opcodes in both DBs and the structs/binary.

Guess I'm not understanding how to use the repack. I have used the repack you supplied, there is no info in my DB for minilogin stuff, the .ini files supplied has no info, so how can it be simply pointing to 127.0.0.1 to get it to work?

I don't want to do a whole new setup just for minilogin, I want to use my existing DB.

EDIT: I don't have internet access on the laptop, thats why I am trying to get minilogin setup

You do not have to set up anything, that is the entire purpose of the repack. You run the batch files, that's it. It has it's own MySQL instance (localhost). If you already have a local MySQL instance, you can either disable that one for the time being, or move the Repack DB's to it using standard backup/restore functions.

All the Repack cares is that it can find the DB on localhost (127.0.0.1) - doesn't have to be the repack instance, but it's just less headache.

Wait a minute. Are you saying the EQEmu-ServerPack for Developers has nothing in the LoginServer.ini, world_db.ini, or login_db.ini files?

I am looking at the exact same RAR file you would download from me, and inside the loginserver folder are 2 INI files. Also inside worldserver there are 2 INI files. Each is loaded with info, configured specifically for 127.0.0.1 (localhost).

As the README.TXT file says, I run 1-MySQL+Apache.bat and wait for it to finish. Then I run 2-LoginServer.bat and wait for it to finish. Finally, 3-WorldServer.bat and wait for it to connect to the LoginServer.

I edit my client's eq2_default.ini and point the address to 127.0.0.1 and save it.

I run Everquest2.exe and log in as admin / admin.

I get online into my local (LAN) world as a sample character, which you can deleted and re-create if you like.

I even have a website at http://localhost

You're telling me none of this works with the download from me, running exactly as I describe and not trying to hack anything to work in any other fashion? ~cheesey grin~

(now I am starting to sound like LE)

Well because sometimes I'm an idiot and try things out the hard way, lol...I've got everything almost working. I am getting the incorrect version error, yet I added the version 0.6.5 the the table 'login_version' and it still doesn't fly.
