Well I freshly installed SF, then I un-zipped the Patcher. I did not find an Install function but I did run it. I set my DIR then I selected 6118L and it when through it's process with intent to update nothing happened so far. Went to run the game so far nothing. I'll fiddle around with it more. More or less i'm sure its operator error >.<

When you switch versions, you have to click Update.

Hmhmhm still no luck. Honestly I have absolutely no clue how to get this thing going. Ive selected my DIR, LS was set right in my ini file, I changed my version to 6118L and went to patch and nothing. When I select Play EQ2Emu it seems to launch my EQ2 EXE yet nothing visually happens. I end up terminating the process in my task manager after about 20ish seconds. Any ideas so far?

Don't use Patcher to launch the exe.

Run Everquest2.exe directly. I haven't checked how the patcher runs the game. That may not even work.

Ok so my next question is since I don't see a specific EverQuest 2.exe file there is one that has the description of EQ2 Client Application is that what I should select to be my DIR?

Where did you install Everquest II?

There has to be an Everquest2.exe file in that folder, even before you patched anything.

You should probably click on the IRC link up top, and come talk to someone live ;)

I was actually able to update my TSO exe to 6118L, and it works. Was this supposed to happen or was it a fluke?

If it works, it's always intentional ;)

Well, it actually managed to work once. Subsequent attempts to enter the game from character select result in an instant crash.

And this is a fresh TSO install patched to "(current 6118)". Patching down to the provided TSO one also results in instant "APPCRASH" the moment the client is fired up. Clients are always started from the exe, not from the eq2emu patcher.

Then no, it is not intended to work that way.

5040 -> 6118 might be too far a jump

Now that I think about it, I have a client packed in a 7-zip archive on my secondary HDD. It's client 6170L.

When I have a moment, I'm going to unpack a copy from it's deep sleep and attempt to down patch it to 6118.

I'll post results.

I need a good working client, the ONLY one I have that can connect to eq2emulator.net and my private one on your 1.2 repack, John, is client 6122 with the Will of a Tyrant load up screen. Normally i'd be ok with this, buy my stupid ass somehow managed to screw the client up and then backed up the screwed up client over my previous backup, so i'm stuck with a half-assed working client.

I would leave it as is, just unzip it and modify your eq2_recent.ini for the login server and GO :)...it should connect :mrgreen:
