As long as it's the Rise of Kunark, or The Shadow Odyssey box set, it will work flawlessly. If not, install whatever CD's you're using and then use Link's Patcher to update it. Hopefully, it won't patch you too far ahead. I used it today and it appears to be updating to 6122L (which isn't officially supported but works enough for you to at least get logged onto a server).

If you're using RoK, then don't bother updating until the Devs in THIS post change it from 6118L. Check that post daily, because SoE has a tendency to throw out another patch the day after the Dev's announcement. Until then, your unpatched RoK will work just fine

Now, what commands can i use..? some of the normal ones i do not see, like i cant talk to people globaly. Or can i not until lvl 10 or something?

The Wiki has a lot of information. Here's the Administrator Commands List, however, you won't be able to use the Admin and GM commands (like ban, kick, spawn, restart server, etc), but /item will bring up a broker of items for you to have, and /zone command will get you from zone to zone, and /move will relocate you to different areas of a zone (in the case of falling through the world, or landing in blackness). You'll have to play about with them to see what all you can do.
