Man, your going to hate me by the end of this but its not "clicking" with me, iv looked at the admin guide and it said the same as you, but that makes no sence to me.

"Note: Once your eq2world database has the newly updated opcodes, you need to copy that table to the eq2ls database as well, so EQ2LoginServer.exe knows about the new opcodes!"

Im guessing ill need navicat or some mysql gui thing in order or do this stage? also where is the opcodes file? haha, i seen a post with someones rar'd opcodes.sql but i cant find that anywhere lol.

Sorry. :p

[EDIT] Well login and world are working, running and world has been updated and iv also get into the DB through navicat and i done the whole opcodes transfer.

Also threw in the everquest2.exe you linked which brought the version down (10714L) to i guess a working one with the latest opcodes. but that doesn't work lol. Still incompatible, so im guessing somethings not done right.

Quick question, when you boot the game and are about to login is there a difference between SOE and Prosieben in the "accounts" part at the top? I meen none of them let me in but i would like to know.

Also, character and world i just leave blank... is that ok?

Sorry again lol.

[EDIT] Again. Ignore everything above. I got it working and i logged into my server (WOOT!) but there's only the admin account. i would like to make a personalized account and add my friends account to the list aswell.

I know there's the game account but it wont log in with it so, im guessing ill have to add one manually? also and sorry for this, but i seen somewhere one of you talking about making the minilogin to allow public players instead of just people through lan. Wouldn't just giving them my external ip work aswell?

Thanks and sorry haha.

ps Thanks for the opcodes. I replaced the working ones with them just to make sure tho!

Opcodes are in the database, the files you see posted are just a dump of some ones database, if your world is updating you should have the newest though. As for how to move them I suck at sql so don't know the command lines, I use HeidiSQL and can just right click the opcode table in the world DB and export it to the opcodes table in the login DB. If you still get incompatible version I can do a dump of my opcode table, you will need to source it into both world and login DB though.

There is no difference between SOE and Prosieben for us. And yes leaving world and character blank is correct.

EDIT: Here is the opcodes from my current DB

Ok All is well in the world of EQ2!

One last thing before i slither off into the undergrowth of all nighters.

Both myself and my friend are able to log into my server using admin/admin but not with our player accounts so yeah, how do you add an encrypted custom password?

For now Username / admin will do.

Passwords are in md5 so you need to use this query

Code: Select all

INSERT INTO account SET name='accountname', passwd=md5('myPw');
change accountname and myPw to whatever you want.

Don't die. I was just being a smarty-pants. We have no such tool ;) I do wish we did.

The ports you need open are shown in each modules LoginServer.ini. By default, loginserver is 9100 and worldserver is 9000.

You also may need your internalworldaddress set (the line with the # commented out) That is your LAN IP for the workstation running World.

Yeah, per usual, right after asking youz i changed that and it works lol.

Anyway we are ingame and everything seems like its working apart from my friend seems to crash the server every time he attacks something... iv made a crude tutorial for setting the server up for 2+ players for next time, so this will be the last of me asking a million questions lol

Thanks for making this possible, not just for me to make a server but for people to play EQ2 again... coop! lol

Actually it seems the server "stops working" alot, if my friends on or not lol, ill work on it tomorrow tho.

Thanks!!
