Committed a new version
Added: Character support
Added: News is now loaded on a thread
Fixed: Web time out will no longer cause the launcher to crash
Changed: Adjustments to the html
Changed: News feed now points to
http://eq2emulator.net/phpBB3/feed.php?f=2
Main thing from this commit is characters. You can manually add a character in the options window, all characters have to be linked to an account if that account is deleted then the characters will be deleted as well. Character and server will be passed as command line allowing you to get straight into the game if every thing is set up right.
Characters may need more testing as they gave me some issues but from my tests it seems to all be working well, just a heads up.
I am open to any opinions on html as I suck with the color part. Also open to any more feature requests.

Forgot to mention, login server will now accept the password in cl_sessionid so you can login with the launcher now.

Works like a champ, too. Played with it all last night.
The only issue I saw was when the world crashes (or goes away) the client tries to re-log in but since it's a bogus pwd, it fails.

Can you, once we select a client/folder and account, suck the character list out of the INI and auto-populate?
acct1_characters.ini
Code: Select all
[Characters]
Character0=Guardian,EQ2Emulator
Character1=Tankasaurus,EQ2Emu DB Project
Character2=Neko,EQ2Emu DB Project

Good idea didn't even think about that, however looking at my ini's none of the emu accounts have characters listed. Will have to think of a practical way to maintain both, or figure out what prevents chars being written to the ini

Weird, you're right. My old "acct1" ini had chars, dated 1/21/2014, so it was pretty recent. The one with a char is my acct6 ini... but my normal emu account ini's do not. Wonder if it has to do with my old-school deleting of cache and logincache-us I used to do, but haven't in a while?

Got chars in the file in a DoV client, CoE+ I can't seem to get any even after deleting the file, logincache and cache.

Just tested on live client again, the file gets created but it is empty, only time I got data was in a DoV client, tried deleteing just login cache, then just cache, both, and the ini's themselves. Even double checked security settings on the folders but nothing has worked so far.

It must like me better LOL.
Before
1/5/2014 12:49PM
Code: Select all
[Characters]
Character0=Ejaheeco,Guk
Character1=Emastu,Antonia Bayle
Recreated after deleting
1/23/2014 10:20 PM
Code: Select all
[Characters]
Character0=Ejaheeco,Guk
Character1=Emastu,Antonia Bayle
It recreates it once all your characters load sitting at the character select screen.

yea live works, emu doesn't for some reason, maybe it is a login server packet issue

Jab, about WebPart skin, maybe you can just take position / size of web browser control and for background (set it fixed with skin on scrollbar) just an idea ^^

EMU works fine for me creating that file.
Deleted admin_characters.ini
Code: Select all
[Characters]
Character0=Admin,Minilogin
Logged in it recreated it and even added to it when i created a new character.
Code: Select all
[Characters]
Character0=Admin,Minilogin
Character1=Sekoiste,Minilogin
I can't check the eq2emu server cause the opcodes have not been updated yet.

Every thing within the web browser needs to be set in html, can't change the look of that control at all in visual studio. I am trying to make it not rely on the web for anything but the feed so I will have to look into possible ways to change it, at least the colors.

I have no idea why it is working for you and not me, even John's isn't working on emu. I thought it might be the character list packet as we are using an old version that differs greatly from live but if it is working for you that must not be the case.

Small fix, changing accounts should clear the selected character.
Also has any one figured out how to reliably get the characters ini to populate on the emu? Would be handy to load characters from that instead of manually.
