To play or not to play... it sounds great to start from the beginning and play through the expansions again. But once you get started it's kind of hard to stop, especially if you do end-game. I think it's a great idea though to collect some of the information though.

Well I myself resubbed and made a character on the new servers because I hadn't kept up with the info for a while and found out they decided to add the isles and boat. I'm really glad they made this decision. This server is sort of what a lot of eq2 vets wanted even though it isn't truly 100% classic obviously. You can only pick the isles to start but from the dialogue on the boat at the docks you can choose to go to frostfang sea from the isle or qeynos which is interesting. I'm guessing the same goes for DLW from the Outpost.

As far as everything else goes i know leveling will be super slow and no exp potions which I kinda like, NO AA until the expansions eventually get released. And it'll be whatever AA tree came with that expansion etc. really cool IMO. I hope hear is balanced across the shattered lands.

I wonder now how they will balance the expansions if they decide to.

I've thought about resubbing for the EQ2 time locked servers but my experience with the EQ1 time locked servers was less than stellar. This is painting my expectation of how the EQ2 servers will turn out.

Sony implemented the EQ1 progression servers haphazardly and left in a lot of content that wasn't "current expansion" changing the game play dynamics quite a bit. It was still fun but the time locking was never long enough for my tastes as I can't play as much as I'd like.

From my understanding all they really did was disable a few features slow down xp and add in islands again, zones are still populated the same as live. For me personally it is not enough to sub up again.

They actually disabled everything except shattered lands. No expansion content or features, it's actually fairly nostalgic and really awesome seeing the old zones popped again with multiple instances of each.

Desert of flames first vote did not pass so they're waiting another 30 days to ask again.

Not quite.

Ladon, Anguis and The Windstalker Rumbler are all epic x2 again. They're a bit easy though... probably because of how OP characters are. The scarecrows in antonica and the skeletons/elementals out in commonlands are heroic again.

They've tried to put a LOT of mobs back to their original status.

I have been playing on Stormhold since they launced it, and me and hubby were soooo excited about the " close to vanilla as we could get our hands on" game play.

We quickly felt dissapointed and cheated, firmly believe the votes are not actually meaning anything, though it is still what we call home these days. They haven't done much to set it back in time. We are on xp penalty and things are a bit harder to kill. Groups help alot! though we can duo quite well ( we got to 50 and then they made things easier so we lost all flavor in adventuring for a while).

Right at the moment we are playing a little on the race server, mainly to earn plat to earn kronos so we can play for free ;) That means, he works hard as a crafter and im helping harvesting, though my heart isnt in it .

We want it old school damnit! and they switcho chango everything to cater to the masses that cries out the loudest..... now the horses even runs 44% on stormhold!

I loved that we had to slow travel the zones to get anywhere, wishing we had subcombines, and horses of different speed. the hamlets! give me the hamlets! *curls up into a ball and sobs* They just wanted our monies! monies in this server that isnt what we wanted!

*drama ensues*

Oh noes!
First off I wanted to thank you for posting your thoughts! Dialog in this area has to be brought up sooner or later if it hasn't already!
Sorry for those issues but that is what everyone is after now-a-days "money". Instant gratification is the new norm! I honestly can't stand the new MMORPG path that is ever so common. Many game makers are afraid to stand against the players which is sometimes needed. Recently I logged into Eq2 live servers and was offered a lvl 90 character. :) wow , just wow....

Aye, TLE turned complete DBG scam. For pvpers especially. I was so happy to see someone is working on EQ2 emu, but what the letdown I felt when I was answered that the goal is to recreate current live build... I rly miss RoK times

Well I am in the process of making a pretty hard core server. Travel will be via Druid, Wizard or boats, not even Griffon Towers. I do not currently have a release date, still working on spells and game mechanics right now.

Could it be something like classic? I mean all the stats matter for any class, no shooting/casting on the run for scouts/crusaders etc? It was the biggest dealbreaker at TLE servers.
