Oh, I have a request.
Can the banner at the top always link back to the portal?

Also, seems like the portal might be in a debug mode.

Ok so I had a 99% success rate on copying over a dozen sites to the new server in one day, and testing. The 1% fail was deleting the old MySQL accounts off the old DB server, but forgetting to aim EQ2Emu at the new DB server

Sorry.

Thanks for the reminder. The Debug data is supposed to be for admins only, I have put the flag back in place.

Done.
For Cynnar's knowledge, where the banner links is configurable via ACP config setting in
ACP->General->Board Configuration->Board Settings->Main Website URL. It was blank, so it used the Board Index by default (seen in the style "overall_header.html" template)
Code: Select all
<a id="logo" class="logo" href="<!-- IF U_SITE_HOME -->{U_SITE_HOME}<!-- ELSE -->{U_INDEX}<!-- ENDIF -->" title="<!-- IF U_SITE_HOME -->{L_SITE_HOME}<!-- ELSE -->{L_INDEX}<!-- ENDIF -->"><span class="site_logo"></span></a>

btw, all you expert HTML/CSS gurus out there, tell me how to style a scrollbar in a DIV.
Code: Select all

Note that there actually is a horizontal scrollbar, you just can't see it (black on black). Spent hours scouring the
IncompetentNet for answers, but every moron says to use -webkit, which assumes the entire world uses Chrome, so that's not the solution.
I thought I was making the codebox cool, but I might have to leave it white background or no one will notice you can scroll horizontal/vertical as needed.

In internet explorer (yes I still us ie) the scroll bar is clearly visible
ScrollBar.png
In opera (the other browser I use often) it is messed up but webkit would fix it for that browser. I do not use chrome at all (takes way to many resources) or firefox (slow)
Quick search for the css for ie gave me
this stack overflow page.
Code: Select all
body{
scrollbar-base-color: #000;
scrollbar-face-color: #000;
scrollbar-3dlight-color: #000;
scrollbar-highlight-color: #000;
scrollbar-track-color: #000;
scrollbar-arrow-color: black;
scrollbar-shadow-color: #000;
scrollbar-dark-shadow-color: #000;
}
For firefox it appears there is no way to do it with css and would need to rely on javascript

Everything I read said those scrollbar* CSS are "illegal". Not that I care breaking the laws of the stupidnet.
Besides, I think that is just for styling the entire browser window scroller, not a <div> set to overflow:scroll
denied.jpg
edit: yeah, trying to use those is denied using Chrome. I won't bother with other browsers because I'm looking for "works for all" if possible. The fact I cannot find CSS in the inherits that color it black-on-black is mind boggling. There has to be a solution. Maybe it's testing browser and using a different CSS for each, which will suck for maintainability.

Yea that would only work with IE, maybe edge not sure. For chrome you would need to add the webkit version in, I believe you can have both in the same css element and the browser will ignore the ones it can't use.
And yea body will effect the whole window, have you tried putting it in a div css element? As for "works for all" it doesn't seem possible because firefox does not support changing of the scroll bar at all and the only way I have seen mentioned to do that was with javascript for firefox.

In today's round of unexpected fuckups... the new production webserver "out of nowhere" suddenly had an issue with an extension that counts user profile visits (totally useless mod, really... this isn't Facebook). 2 hours later, I found an answer to why sql_mode=only_full_group_by was throwing an error... and it had nothing whatsoever to do with php 7, mysql/mariadb, phpBB3.2.0 - 3.2.2 or anything that 12 other morons suggested fixing.
Instead, it was a bad plugin

Disabled it, and all is working.
Benefit to eq2emulator.net: you are now upgraded to the latest phpBB (3.2.2) at least until tomorrow when I am sure they will shit out yet another version because that seems to be the new world order, causing sysAdmins nothing but anger and hostility at having to upgrade constantly. In case you can't tell, I've had about enough of this

CYNNAR!!!

Oh, oh, and I almost forgot. Ahh, I'm also gonna need you to go ahead and work on it next month, too.

Good thing I haven't grabbed phpbb yet, ang I guess I should wait until tomorrow then before I download it.
BTW thanks for the upgrade. Your a good man, I don't care what Jabantiz says about you.

This got me curious, so I did a side-by-side, using Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome. Unless I am completely missing the point, I do not see where one does anything different than the other; they both spin off a dozen threads connecting to all their robots and data miners and spyware

It's okay to not like Google. But you really should not be spreading fake news, Jabantiz ! hahah

Shift+Esc brings up the task manager in Chrome. Multiple processes is by design.
Not sure if Edge has the same.
Also, the latest version of Firefox is pretty lightning quick. I wouldn't discount it just because the older versions slowed down quite a bit.
