Re: TessEQ2 - Home of the DB Project
Let me take yet another moment to thank Scatman and the whole team for the kick-ass job they have been doing on the content so far. I know it's been difficult and most times you are waiting on me to get you the data you need, but considering the size of the task at hand, you all have been doing an amazing job.
The best motivator is that it's "fun", so keep it up, and have fun with it.

Nah, I'd rather wait for the data and make sure it's as good as it can get rather than having to repop and reclean a zone three times *ponders about Queen's Colony...*. Everyone's being doing an awesome job, it's coming together nicely!

Re: TessEQ2 - Home of the DB Project
Just a heads up. Starting today Fri Mar 6 2009 through Sun Mar 8 2009, all services of mmoemulators.com, TessEQ2 and DB Editor will be sporatically offline while I shuffle yet more hardware around.
Just letting the players know if they see the server Offline. Outages shouldn't be too long, but I have to move my game servers to a new dedicated host (if I can config the sucker properly heh).

Re: TessEQ2 - Home of the DB Project
it figures, i just got my custom Packet scanner working correctly with EQ2 and you take the server offline
guess i`ll have to spend sometime with the family
Also is there any update coming for the minilogon server, can`t seem to get it working with the new 0.65 version..

What does your custom packet scanner have to do with Tess being online or offline?John Adams wrote:will be sporatically offline

Re: TessEQ2 - Home of the DB Project
Welp, epic fail for me this weekend. Got not one thing done I had planned. I wanted to replace my old linksys router with a linux machine running rp-pppoe and shorewall - and while I got further than I expected, I just do not comprehend the routing stuff and could never get LAN machines to talk to ppp0, so I gave up.John Adams wrote:Just a heads up. Back to the router til I have more time to research this. Meanwhile, server (and editor) back up for the team.

Re: TessEQ2 - Home of the DB Project
I created a test "Beta Mount" ability and stuck it in every Tess players book. This is just to test out mounts, and of course this is just the land-based horse =) You can play with the /test command in-game to try other mounts (find a list on ZexisStryfes Creature Model list).
Here's the LUA script for the Spell:
Just insert a spell into your spells table, set up the spell_tiers and spell_data with the 8 (!!!) params, and of course set the spell_classes to 255 for ALL.
Toss it in your starting_spells or character_spells tables and you have an icon in your book that summons this mount.
Here's the LUA script for the Spell:
Code: Select all
--[[
Script Name : Spells/mounts.lua
Script Purpose : Spawns mounts of {model_id}, {color} and {speed}
Script Author : John Adams / LethalEncounter
Script Date : 2009.03.28
Script Notes : JA: Color and Speed params are optional?
--]]
function cast(Caster, Target, MountID, MountRed, MountGreen, MountBlue, SaddleRed, SaddleGreen, SaddleBlue, MountSpeed)
if MountID ~= nil then
SetMount(Caster, MountID)
if MountRed ~= nil then
SetMountColor(Caster, MountRed, MountGreen, MountBlue, SaddleRed, SaddleGreen, SaddleBlue)
end
if MountSpeed ~= nil then
SetSpeed(Caster, MountSpeed)
end
end
end
function remove(Caster, Target)
SetMount(Caster, 0)
SetSpeed(Caster, 0)
endToss it in your starting_spells or character_spells tables and you have an icon in your book that summons this mount.

TessEQ2 is on the Public LoginServer. It'll be in the server choices part of character creation. Just pick it and come on in.

Re: TessEQ2 - Home of the DB Project
Just a heads up to those checking out content on TessEQ2 - We're having an abundance of issues with lockups and such the more content and players we add. We cannot track these all down on our Dev server, since the population is intentionally low, so I will occasionally put Development code on Tess for you all to beat up for us. I know it can be frustrating if the server keeps going down, but remember, we're all in this together to reach a common goal of making the best, most stable server possible. Without proper test results, things like this get by us. So, don't give up!
Furthermore, 90% of you crash out and never bother to report the issues to us. How do you suppose anything will get fixed if we do not ever know what was happening at the time of a server outage? Maybe you can take 5 minutes to come to the bug forums and tell us what was going on. So far the only one really reporting crashes is me, and I know for a fact most of you get crashed on more than once a day.
If you don't care to report the issues, we won't care to fix them. Sound like a fair trade?
Report your bugs or they won't get fixed.

Re: TessEQ2 - Home of the DB Project
Couple short updates. As some may notice, TessEQ2 is running debug 24x7. Why? Because no one was reporting crashes, so since we're not mind readers, we resorted to running the world in Debug until all crashes are identified. This means, slower response for you, the player. I doubt anyone will notice.
I see thousands of items being summoned and tried, but not a single peep of feedback about how good or bad the data is. Couple of folks have /bugged a few things, but certainly not 100k items worth. I guess the data is perfect.
Lastly, I have modified my Server Stats page a little. Check it out here. Just a little fun script to show what is happening on the server.
