Database releases will not occur until after the emulator server core passes through "Beta", which will not be for some time. The official DB is not available to the public just yet because it is in a cleanup/configuration state which is unusable by anyone.
The server has some functionality, which if you read through the many posts on the forum you would discover (like maybe the EQ2Emulator Project Status thread?)
You can create your own spawns in the meantime either manually with in-game commands, or collect logs from live and parse them yourself. Either is an option until the official DB get some stability.

Thank you folks for the info.
I've been reading through many of the threads after my previous post and have realised of the monumental efforts that you are all going through to bring this project to fruition.
Unfortunately, I am painfully aware that I do not have the skills to play with the creation of my own database.
I will be patient and follow the updates that you make here.
Thanks again for your replies.

It's actually not too hard to create a spawn in-game. Try these commands next time your in.

Code: Select all

/spawn create npc 203 1 50 'Lady Vox' 1 32
which is:
/spawn create [spawn type] [race type] [class type] [level] [name] (difficulty) (size)
That should pop a critter atop you. If you wanted to then save it in your database, you would target that spawn and type:

Code: Select all

/spawn add new 'test'
That will insert it into the DB so next time you start the server, she should still be there.
It's been a while since I've done this, but I believe that still works.
Btw, for a list of valid "race" id's, seek out ZexisStryfe's sig. He has the best list of model info in the known world.
