It is on the list, but because it is 0% and no start date, it does not show up.

I will see if showing 0% (on Search request) makes sense - reason I didn't do it initially is, there are probably 100 more system/subsystem combos we haven't even entered yet... and I didn't want to chase my tail everyone someone said "I don't see Player / Options / Show Helm!!!111"

And REALLY, I'd rather be using Trac or Bugzilla or something as our project management suite, but haven't had the time to work that out. Image set up Bugzilla for us, but no one really took the time to examine it's usefulness, including me ;)

BACKUP YOUR 6122L CLIENT NOW!!!
If you lose compatibility with the Emu after this date, do not complain. You have been warned - again!

Isn't 6196L a streaming client?

Well you can use the stream client to get to that point, but that is currently the EQ lives current patch version for the client. Because for me thats the original box set of the game, patched to the current live version which is 6196L.

As long as you use the station launcher, you can stay away from the streaming client.

There are 2 station launchers the old one which can be installed from your original disks or the newer one that you can get from here http://launcher.station.sony.com

Let me see if I have this correct. Anyone with an original box set can patch up to 6196L. I assume that this also applies to future patching, as long as SoE doesn't change the launcher. Anyone downloading the game from the SoE website after version 6122L (which means the Trial version and the "Reinstall the Game" version - both streaming clients) will not be able to play on Emu. Have I missed anything?

For the most part yes, however, the stream application so far that I can tell is only downloaded when you register and download directly from the eq2 website. The launcher however, comes standard with (and I could be wrong so someone might have to correct me here) all box sets and digital purchases. Also, you can obtain the launcher and the free trial directly from the http://www.station.sony.com website. Each one will "always" patch itself up-to-date with the current client release that SOE uses.

As to why the trial no longer works, why is that? I can understand the streaming version not working, but the launcher version is the same as before and in theory should still work as long as the client version is correct to use on the eq2emu. Has anyone actually tried that yet? Downloading the launcher app, installing eq2, making a copy of the eq2 folder, changing the files for eq2emu, then running everquest2.exe? Because you *can* still obtain the 14 day trial via the launcher.

Because the trial uses the streaming version now.

Yes, but if you download the station launcher you can get the trial that way as well, so in that sense you *could* still use the trial as long as it's downloaded/used from the launcher?

"The Trial" refers to the streaming client (as far as in the context of what we mean here at EQ2 Emu). This is what 99% of the people will download when they visit www.everquest2.com and click on the Get the Game links. The danger with using the Station Launcher, is that new people will not know what the latest version to patch to is, and they end up with an unsupported client anyway. Kudos to you for finding this information though.
