FYI, after copying over my existing EQ2 installation to a separate DIR and running the patcher I was able to connect. The client version was whatever was available when EQ2 had its "come back for free" week about two months ago and was patched up to Velious. Setting the patcher to the latest current EVERQUEST2.EXE client provided by the patcher worked for me.

Granted I do have some weird things happening with the UI and I have some extraneous windows during creation but otherwise it's fine.

Just thought I'd share.

Cool. While Zcoretri did get our opcodes setup to allow SF-Halas Reborn clients to connect, the structs are incorrect so you get random crap all over the screen, and likely client crashes til those are all worked out.

We just thought it would be nice to have something newer than the SF box set working. And rumor has it we might do one better... but I'll wait til we sort the details out first ;)

Hint: Make a backup of this weeks DoV client...

Oh sorry, it is a SF client that was patched to include Velious items. Sorry for the misinformation. I have *not* purchased Velious.

First off, thank you for the EQ2EmuPatch Utility! Are these patches still available for download through this patch utility? When running EQ2EmuPatcher.exe It shows the following message:

Grabbing patcher data from server...
Could not obtain the patcher file, please try again later.

Maybe this is only temporary?

Hmm, just tried it from the downloaded file in the opening post, and it works fine for me. But, I am local to the files... perhaps someone else can give it a try and report back.

btw, i was patching SF Box (back) to 6118L, which is all that is supported now anyway. The SF client patches in there are not quite stable yet.

Just re-downloaded and it works as intended. Apparently I had downloaded the wrong version which was trying to update from http://mmoemulators.com/files/* instead of http://patch.eq2emulator.net/patches/*. Again, thanks for this very useful patching utility.

That's weird. I don't even have files in the mmoemulators.com files folder... well, good to see you have it working.

To expand on what TILT said:
"Just re-downloaded and it works as intended. Apparently I had downloaded the wrong version which was trying to update from http://mmoemulators.com/files/* instead of http://patch.eq2emulator.net/patches/*. Again, thanks for this very useful patching utility."

There are two versions of the Patcher attached to Post #1. At the top of the post is EQ2EMuPatcher.zip whose EQ2EmuPatcher.xml reads:
<Patcher>
<EQ2Path></EQ2Path>
<FirstRun>True</FirstRun>
<Version>6118L</Version>
<ShowChecksumButton>False</ShowChecksumButton>
<PatchingSite>http://patch.eq2emulator.net/patches/</PatchingSite>
</Patcher>

And at the bottom of the post is a second attachment EQ2EMuPatcher.rar whose EQ2EmuPatcher.xml reads:
<Patcher>
<EQ2Path>D:\Clients\EverQuest II (4412)</EQ2Path>
<FirstRun>False</FirstRun>
<Version>6120L</Version>
<ShowChecksumButton>True</ShowChecksumButton>
<PatchingSite>http://mmoemulators.com/files/</PatchingSite>
</Patcher>

Bottom line is that the .zip file works and the .rar doesn't.

As a side note, I've finally built the project from SVN and sourced a clean database by rebuilding EQ2Emulator-ServerPack1.2 with updated files. Thank you John Adams and everyone in the community for this amazing software!

Greetings, I recently came across this emulator and downloaded the patcher. Now, ive done everything right the first time im pretty sure. My game started up and all went well. But got off to create a public acc. Now the next time I did it, had to redo the whole thing idk why. And then I get this error when I click play game "xul.dll" was not found.

You should only have to use the patcher once, after that you want to start the game by running Everquest2.exe

You can try patching to the version again, but most likely you will have to reinstall and run the patcher again. I don't deal with the patcher much though so if that doesn't work hopefully some one more knowledgable on the subject can help.

I'm up to the Choose Version part atm

Is the "7268 (current)" option the DoV client?

edit.

Well I think i got it working, running around some place called New Halas.

I remembered starting off in Qeynos when I first played so I gotta look up how to get out of here xD

Yes that is the currect version for DoV

Sadly all the old islands have been removed from live, the emu still has them though, just type in /zone 253 to go to queen's colony, you can also use /zone list to try and look up other zones.

Nice, that /zone command helped lol.

edit, nvm lol

I recognize the Queen's colony now.

Only thing I notice that isn't working so far is I can pull up my character window.

I get a box that says

The MainHUD Persona window is not compatible with the current client. Please upgrade your UI mod to a compatible version or revert to the default UI (/loadui default)

I tried /loadui default but the message appeared again when I went to open my character screen.
