Me and the hubby were discussing this very same to day, about SWG being "no where else to be played" and that would make a factor to this. I know there are folk out there who loved the old and gold days of EQ2 as well, and there must be more of them. The final sunset will come for eq2 some day, and there is already a decrease in the population all over. I am sure that by that time you guys will have a great product for the loyal eq2'ers to come home to.

All they'd have to do is release a trailer of them playing IoR and advertise it as EQ2 Classic and suddenly loads of people would care.

I know that is easier said than done, but no one cares for a current day EQ2 emulator, Classic is what people want. An Emu is also the perfect way to play that old game, it was 100% group focused and you need a small tight community of people who are willing to group up, not massive amounts of solo people who complain about grouping.

I bet no one saved all that extra voice work they did in that optional check box they had back in the day that you could download from the launchpad.

How is it possible that more people love SWG than EQ2? EQ2 is a far superior game! Not only do they have a huge, active community, they have 1400+ players online! Unless of course, that's just smoke & mirrors :)

I know why more people love WoW emulators... because Blizzard as like a billion subscribers.... but still... wow!

WoW Server Status Page

etc...

So, Community... what's the problem? What do we have to do to get you interested? Is it content? Server features? Do we need to pay you money? Just curious :)
I voted other. Never even knew this existed or I would have been following it all along. Absolutly love VG and EQ2, but not as they currently exist (or in one case, is about to cease to exist). Gotta get the word out! Whomever posted on ReRolled is the only way I knew this existed!

Welcome, glad to see a new member posting. We had a new member saying he wanted to advertise for us, he might have been the one who posted over there, but haven't seen him in about a week now. We seem to be in a catch 22 right now, we can't grow the community without more volunteers and we can't get more volunteers without growing the community. We will always be here working on the emu though, even if it is slow going.

I posted in another thread my wife and I are Freshman in college (although we are much older in real life) attempting to get our computer science degrees. That means nothing today, but as time goes on we are hoping to learn enough to contribute to projects like this. I think by this time next year we will know Python? haha. I know, we are a long way off, but give it time, we will be able to help!
