And still can't get into the world?
Logs are showing no errors at this point, however I do not see anything in world to indicate a character was created, though the logs for that might be disabled by default. If you still can't get into the world then I would suggest opening up log_config.xml and going through each category setting enabled on every config to true except trace and packet and level = 0, this will spit out more in the logs that might give a clue if you still can't get into the world.
Here is an example of what I mean, this is the world category

Does your world server DB have a character in it? Also did the logs after changing the log_config.xml give anything interesting?

not sure what you mean about the world server. I have 2 accounts set up for testing and each has a character or 2 in it, none of which seem to log in

the DB that eq2world.exe uses, according to your log the db name is eq2world, so does that DB have any characters in it?
From what I can see from the logd login is not talking to world, when a character is created or a character is selected and play is hit there should be some info in the world console. What exactly is it doing now?

oh yes, it is showing all the characters i created, so it seems to be sending them to the database at least. As for what happens, i click to enter the world and it hangs on "connecting to zone server" before sending the client back to the character select screen

For whatever reason login is not talking to world in your case, same goes for the client. When you hit play the login server will send a packet with the address of the world server to connect to and the client should attempt a connection there, however your log shows no incoming connections on the world server so the client communication isn't even reaching it.
You appear to be using 127.0.0.1 for the ip so port forwarding isn't the issue here. The only thing I can think of that would block communication is the firewall. Do you have a rule for port 9000?

i actually disabled the firewall completely and still have the same issue

i was fiddling with the loginserver.ini file and dropped out worldaddress and added my 192.168... addie to the internal one after reading some material on the settings, but now the client just completely closes out when i try to enter the world. No error messages in the server though

Can you use the attached log_config.xml and replace the one you are currently using and then restart both minilogin and world and then post the produced log after attempting to log in. Also put the ip's back to 127.0.0.1 in loginserver.ini. This won't solve the error but hopefully the log it produces will give us a clue on what is going wrong.

Something that was just pointed out to me is that the loginstructs.xml is not visible on svn so I will attach the latest version, drop this in with minilogin and overwrite the old.
