I'll go first. :)

Howdy all, my well-known forum alias is John Adams (real first name so I don't forget it) and I have been around the gaming communities since the late 90's... discovering MMOs (Everquest was my first) in 2000. I've played nearly every major MMO that has come out since 2000. I quit playing Everquest in 2005, and after trying out the Progression servers in 2006, I discovering the EQEmulator project. I had no idea that game was emulated! And as they say, the rest is history. Since then I have hosted MMOEmulators.com, my personal collection of MMO Emulators and attempt to configure and run as many MMOs as I can acquire clients for, mostly for friends and family but occasionally a stranger makes their home in my little domain. :)

In real-life, professionally I am a software developer 'slash' QA engineer - that is to say, I write software that breaks other software, generally speaking. I have a slew of hobbies that keep me away from the computer (at least until I got involved with EQ2Emulator hehe). A little something that no one knows about me is that I am a composer - that is, writing music - as a hobby. In the 80's, I did the rock star gig for a few years that got me hooked into the music scene. Afterwards I settled in to contemporary movie and TV composition. Nothing anyone has ever heard of for sure, but it's fun for me. Maybe someday I'll even get paid.

Meanwhile, I fill my spare time with gaming (EQ2, EVE, and Vanguard + Fallout 3 and a slew of other console games), and working my ass off as the EQ2Emulator Database Project lead. It's hard work, but extremely fun and rewarding - especially when I watch players log into my server and experience the content that wouldn't have existed if not for me or my great team of Content Designers. :) Oh yah, I guess some credit should go to that guy that wrote the emulator... whatshisname...

Anyway, if you feel like doing so, start a new topic introducing yourself. Tell a little about you, something interesting, something unknown, what are you up to these days, etc. We'd like to get to know our community better!

Imp, it is very good to see you. Here's something you may not know...

John Adams = Vaniq ;)

I've been meaning to check in on the EnB team for some time. Still anxious to get a private server running!

Yea, I figured as much after viewing your mmoemulators site :)

Just wanted to stop by and show some support! I'm pretty bogged down these days but if I can offer any assistance don't hesitate to send me a PM. The EnB emu is still progressing ... should have another open stress test sometime this month.

Anyway, good talking with you ... its been a while!

Heh oh yah, I guess mmoemulators is in my profile duh =) I know what you can do for us... scoop out your brain and let me borrow it for 6 mos. The tools you write are amazing, and I wish I had a fraction of your knowledge in that respect. I tried writing an EQ2DB editor in C#, even looked over your Sector Editor code for examples and I was totally baffled. So I wrote one in php instead =)

I'll get back to it, maybe after the entire game is collected, all data spawned and we're done. HAAAAhaha. yah right.
