To get help setting up a Windows or Linux EQ2Emulator server, please use the appropriate forums provided.
Required Info:
What is the client version you are trying to connect with? *
-
If your client version exceeds the Project Status version, your problem cannot be solved - STOP HERE and wait for the LoginServer to allow newer clients.
- If you are crashing, what are the contents of your alertlog.txt or eq2_crash.log files in your eq2 client dir?
- Be very specific, if it is your own, we still need to know at least the World Name from your servers LoginServer.ini. If it is someone elses server (you are just a player), the server name listed on your character select screen will do.
Optional Info: (that can help us help you)
Are you launching Everquest2.exe, or eq2.exe?
- Should be Everquest2.exe
- Things like CPU, GPU, RAM, OS version + service packs. Sometimes running DXDiag.exe can give you tons of info on your setup.
- Are you dialup, cable modem, DSL, what is your min/max speeds, etc...
If you provide us with this information, it is likely we can solve your problem. Connecting to an EQ2Emulator server is very simple, but unknown variables between differing setups can cause unforseen problems. Chances are it is not EQ2Emulator, the login server or the server software itself, but some other problem with your particular client setup.
Note: From here out, any help request without adequate information will be locked or deleted. We do not have time to play 20-questions to solve your problem, we have an emulator to develop.
