I Know its been forever since I posted. I just wanted to add how great it is that you guys are keeping the core/client to run with the Rise of Kunark . One down fall I seen with the Wow Projects is they keep trying to keep up to date with the client patches and expansion packs. There is no way to keep up with this.
You guys are smart the way your doing this. Your not leaving half finished projects to chase after another expansion or client patch.
So what I'm trying to say is WTG! I'm glad you stayed true to The Client/Core version.

Sorry Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Everyone - Late! I been out of town.

Well What I'm getting at if you don't mind me using WoW emu's as an example,
They made the first wow emu. They had half the server working but had huge bugs and unfinished combat, skill, ect.
So When burning crusades came out, instead of finishing fixing all the bugs and getting like animal taming to work,
They Chased after Burning Crusades. Leaving all the broken parts on hold and working on adding new land and spawn ect.
So time goes on and W.O.L.K is released. Instead of finishing up what they have done they are now chasing after that.
The emu is full of bugs, skills, classes don't work. They basically are started over again. ( they do this with every client patch also). So what they have right now is a emu 3.0.3 that runs worse then 2.3.3 emu. If that makes sence.

So what I'm getting at, What I understand is you need the box set and that client is what the emu is being made from. If the project stays the corse It will be a complete great running emu. With few bugs if any and finished spawns, skills, combate. Data Base ect.

Is that what your asking me?
Thanks Palaxe

I couldn't agree more. This is exactly why my own personal WoW Emu has been shelved. Not only do they put out horribly 1/2-ass code as you say, chasing the latest/greatest, but the development teams for these servers seem like a bunch of teenage juvenile retards. Sure they can code, but they get into little pissing matches over things and never agree on one thing, and the project dies - then 12 other people start yet another "Antrix/Ascent" code branch and it keeps going from there. As a user, you are left scratching your head on how impossible it is to keep up with crappy code that doesn't work, 250 repacks that never work, egos which are so easily bruised you can count on anything you touch being obsolete within 2 mos... and the WoW community in general. What a bunch of insolent children. Arrogant, idiotic, flexing their stupid little eMuscles like they are somehow important with their snotty, clever little posts on anything. And finally, "taking credit"... that community seems obsessed with who did what first and their name being on it so the entire world can praise them for how great their 1 SQL insert was. Seriously... if I didn't just enjoy the emulator(s) in general, I would never bother with WoW again.

Now, look at the EQ2Emulator project and community. Except for me, everyone here is basically very nice and helpful :) The Core Server project is 1 guy, generally speaking, who can never get into a fight with himself and break up with himself and split the project. Everything he wants, he gets without argument, and surprisingly it is all for the betterment of the project and not his own personal ego. I am proud to be on his team. :) Look at our DB team. We are severely under-staffed, and because I am leading it currently, I am extremely wary of who I let on the team even though I am begging for more help daily. I want grown adults with expert technical skills - not someone who once upon a time saw a SQL table, or who is level 80 on 12 servers in every raiding guild ever who has beat the content the day it was released and here, look at my gearz linklinklink.

We won't have a problem with "leaks" and treachery in our projects, because we just don't have time for it. While the source code is open, the database soon will be (I hope) and we will continue to be one of the best run projects in history.

The End.

I agree with you as well Palaxe, I was just busting chops :P

While we do support the latest and greatest here, our priority is getting the core code functional before we worry about the add ons. Support and priority are two very different things :) We all support each other here and no matter what, the Emu comes first, not personal egos.
