Version 944

Hi there, I'm new to the boards, but not new to EMU's... first time trying the EQ2, tho'.
I just got the latest and greatest EQ2 (I had uninstalled it over a year ago). I've gotten the mini-login working, the database updated (both .06 and the SVN) and neither will work with the mini-login. I get the error:
Bad version 944.
Is my client too new? Or am I doing something else wrong?

Yes, the opcodes for 944 have not been discovered yet. Stay tuned for an update when LethalEncounter gets a free moment to update them.

Just wanted to post an update:
After farting around with the db and .ini files (I changed the eq2_default.ini to point to eq2emulator.net), I've found a couple of misnamed and missing fields in the db. Namely the characters table; diety misspelled as "deity", soga_race_type and race_type are missing and both race_type and model_type needed a default value that was missing (I chose "1")...
After these additions/changes, I was able to successfully create a character, but was unable to login. It actually goes to login, but then EQ2World.exe errors out... I'm assuming this is because of the version number.
Don't know if any of this helps, I hope it does. I'm rather excited about this project and if I can be any help, please let me know.

deity is spelled right.....
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/deity as for the other "fixes" you made to the database you are on your own with that...
it could be called anything as long as the corresponding code in the emu uses the same name
using the stock database you can create a char through the game...add spawns assign scripts whatever you need to do most can be done through the ingame commands which i suggest you use if you do not know the structure of how the data should go. and even if you do it would be good to do most things through the in game commands or a approved editor made for this database layout. since it is easy to make a mistake now and then..
LE just updated the opcodes for this verson so it works

If you are seeing "race_type" in any fields in the WORLD database, you are using the release SQL update (9101) which will not work with the newer clients. To use the newer clients and stay current with Emu dev, you must use update port 9102 to get the latest data and DB updates.
To use the 0.6 release of EQ2Emu, use the 4412 version of the client, aka, ROK Box install (no patching).
If you are using Minilogin, this is not the forum to ask for help in. =) But yes, Minilogin fields for the loginserver tables have not been updated yet and will not match the world, though they still work.

Sorry Bion, shoulda been more clear on my post. The code was looking for "diety", the field was spelled, "deity"... that's what I meant by "spelled wrong"...
Not sure what you mean by adding all the spawn stuff and whatnot... I'm just trying to get in the game. I'll try not to "help" anymore. Sorry.
Thanks for the info John, very useful! I'll give the SVN files off 9102 here in a little bit. Thanks again.

Maybe my post came off badly for whatever reason I did look at the code for the misspell however i did not look at the minilogin code thats where this issue occurs.
The way your post reads at least to me is that you were trying to manually insert records in the database where the login server does this for you already... I do admit I did not read your original post just the last one and since this was in the windows server forum and not the mini login one I did not realize it was mini login specific question. I apologize for that
