Updated my server with 0.6.5

Ok so today I had a chance to update my server from some old revision and I remember my database which dummy me didn't think of backing it up. The database I had had items in the items tables and a bunch of other tables so when I always went to start by server it would load up items food etc. Well I decided to drop my DB completely and get 0.6.5 so I did and it updated my DB and all went well until I started the server when it showed loaded 0 items 0 food 0 of well everything mostly. So I went and checked my DB and those tables had absolutely nothing in them. Anyone know why this has happened? I'm not the compiling type atm anyways to compile it I know I had issues doing so a while back. I also seen it had alot of new tables that mine didnt I believe my old one had like 20 tables the new one has like 40 or so.
