your options are Kunark set, Shadow Odyssey set or wait until we update to live again. That's it...

Are you asking if you install your EoF disks, then connect and get the latest patch that you will be able to play on emu?

The answer is probably not since SOE had a small update yesterday. You will have to wait until we update to live again.

This project supports SOE and keeps them off our backs by ensuring valid, legal clients are bought from SOE and used on our servers without modification.

If you choose to not "buy" the software we support, you cannot play on an EQ2Emulator, or you have to patch your existing client to live and make a backup copy so next time SOE updates, you do not lose your compatibility.

Dude, just buy Kunark or TSO (Kunark $20, TSO $30). Much easier that way, you don't have to patch, and you can always use either of those to reinstall when need be.

You can always just try it. Usually the only time our server / client gets out of synch is when SOE changes the "data version", which means they moved some stuff around in the structs and LE has to identify the changes - which takes days sometimes, and when he is super busy like he is now, weeks. This is why usually after a LU, we wait a few weeks to bother making the new client(s) compatible because SOE usually has to re-patch stuff due to mistakes, hindsight, or the nerf bat(tm)

So, you are welcome to load EoF, patch to SOE's current live client, and try it. Worst thing it'll do is say "Incompatible, please patch" which of course, you cannot do. That's the sign to wait it out.

Or, go hang out in IRC. There's info and people there with tricks up their sleeve all the time ;)
