will the server ever be updated to the most recent released SOE client. since all i could find was there's with a paid subscription, and I could not find any of the old original versions at any of my local stores. I even tried the "play the fae" trail, nope not working. any ways, as it was posted and we are not allowed to ask about where we can aquire a working copy or talk about " backward patching",...I think that was what was stated. So if some one could SEND ME A private message WITH an awnser when the server will be update to the current released sony online entertainment CLIENT. I would be very much in your debt.

No one knows when the EQ2Emu client will be updated to live. Could be tomorrow, could be a month. Oh, and it's cool that you can't find an original copy of EQ2, cause it won't work anyway. Get a copy of Rise of Kunark or The Shadow Odyssey, install, and don't patch. Then follow the instructions on this site to edit your install to work with EQ2Emu. Otherwise, you have no choice but to wait for an update, and once again, no one knows when that will be.

yeah, it would be really good if the quemu could be updated to the lastest client, i got 5609L atm, so cant connect to equ2emu.
And i need to wait, and hope that qeu2emu will soon be updated to latest

We do not update to the current client on a whim, only when data being processed needs it, or some new functionality is discovered.

We cannot repeat enough that you cannot update to the current live game without first making a backup. If you choose to not do this simple step, you are going to need to wait. And not bug Dev about hurrying up, because LE usually only updates the current client when I ask.

what do u mean with making a "backup"? How to do that? Am i thenn able to play on eq2emu xD?

Copy the Everquest II folder to another folder. Backup = Copy.

• XCOPY "C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest II\*.*" C:\EQ2Client /s /e

If you play Emu using your Copy, you are never again out of date if you update your Original game to live.
