LoginServer bug (I think)

I run 2 servers. I have characters from one account on both servers. When one server is down, I do not see the characters displayed for the downed server - which is fine.

However, if you load the character for the running server all teh way into game, then bring UP teh second server, then /camp to Character Select - the process getting to char select is halted. Creating Entities freezes for a long while, then eventually tells you that you have disconnected from the loginserver, and the client shows no characters, only the Create character (like a brand new acct with no chars).

So something is happening when the second server you have chars for, boots up while you are playing the first server. Something to look out for. I cannot say this happens every time, but it happens enough to me to finally report it.

Did I mention EQ2's character select screen sucks? I wonder if the character cache is going funky again..

It could be, since I am not actually quitting the client completely during this test and thus my clear batch file is not running.

LE, I wonder if this issue is linked to this one?

Neither are critical, but seem to happen with the more servers we become members of that are up and down often.

There was usually a status change set for the login server, I have noticed a lot of issues with it, but I don't think we have looked into it much.

Despite the server showing as down, if you press Enter with the character selected, it will try to connect to it anyway (even though Play is grey). This should work...
