I am trying to just get to the point that I can log into a server, and I followed the instructions for the play guide exactly, but I get an error message when I try to log in:

Login Rejected: The Clients version does not match the servers version. Please repatch and try again.

I repatched, still the same problem. As far as I can tell, I have followed the instructions to the letter, but maybe my client is too new?

Any ideas?
