maybe you could make a tool/addon thingy for the official Everquest 2, that harvests info automatically when players play, that would probably speed info gathering up alot

Eq2PacketCollector. Collects packets from Live Eq2. The Packet Parser parses those packets. It is still a monumental task as packets - information - are only sent when needed. So opening doors, every single quest, item, spell, line of dialogue... Lots of fun!
