Is there a zone editor out there? I'd like to create my own zones or alter existing ones.

Thanks,
Ravel

No editor needed. All you need is a SQL tool like MySQL GUI Tools, HeidiSQL or SQLYog, open the eq2db in your MySQL instance and edit the contents of the `zones` table.

Fields should be self explanatory. Just make sure the "file" field is a valid zone file name, or it won't work.

Ah but ya see, I'm not a programmer (yet). How does one know where an object is placed if you're editing in a DB as opposed to let's say a drag and place environment or perhaps a graphic UI to assist you see what you're doing?

Please forgive the newbie question.

You didn't say "Spawn a zone". You said edit existing zones, and I thought that meant, making changes to zone names ;)

For the rest, search the forums and wiki for your answers. Plenty of information available.

He did say "create my own zones" :P Anyways, that does depend on what you mean. You can spawn things to create customized zones, but you are unable to create entire zones from scratch.

Maybe I am 1-dimensional.

Creating a zone, to me, means inserting a record on the zones table, giving it a known file name, and voila. You've created a new zone. :)

Potato, potatoe.
