Just out of curiosity, what would happen if we left all the main zones running constantly, and only loaded/unloaded instances?

Also, is it possible to split zones across different servers?

It would work fine, although your computer will use a lot more memory.

Currently no, but that is one of the things that will be worked in the near future.
