Has you the right version of Eq2? You must have the Client version 4427 to play on a server.

If you patched the game after the 17th you are out of luck right now.

Yah that must be it then Cause I did it today. It just tells me bad name or pasword though when I try to log in. So just keep an eye on things and see if you update to this patch number even I don;t know where the number is on the screen.

Go into Windows mode, you'll see the client version in the title of the window.

Yep, your out of luck until RoK release. Your client version is higher than the version the Emu is currently compatible with. On Oct 17th, SOE rolled out Live Update 39, and with that was changes to the code of the game, so you cant connect with the emulator.
The best thing to do, is to just kick back and keep a eye out for when we move up to RoK compatibility, and then you will need to get the box set that will be available in stores. Since anyone can by a box, but you cant pick a certain point in patches from Live, we will be resting on the box set for awhile (6 months to 1 year) while features are implemented and bugs ironed out.
Once you do get the box set though, make two copies of the game, basically, by installing the game, coping the whole EQ2 folder and then labeling each one accordingly, one for the emu, and the other you will be playing normal EQ2 on, so you only patch one and not the other.

If you switch to the language to French, it will patch to their version which is compatible. When I switched it created a new subdirectory and it downloaded the whole game in French. The created directory was around 9GB so expect a long download.

Is there a way that I can get the older files from someone, the files that where changed anyway and just put them in the dir and play that way.

I really hope you read the rules. Let me give you a little refresher since I know you did.

We do not support software piracy here. This goes for any content is not provided by this site (Eq2Emulator.net). You may not ask for, provide, or support illegal file activites, which means dont request Game files of any nature. Users are at thier own discretion on how they obtain their files, but it is to not be brought up here on this site. This also goes for asking about "Back Patching".
Consequences to any infraction on this will result in a immediate ban.
Now, here is the reall good stuff...

Now beings as you are posting, I say once again, I hope you read the rules. Im going to let this one slide as its new community, and you are a new member. But the bottom line still remains the same.
DO NOT ASK FOR GAME FILES!!!
Anyhow though, as my post above said, you will have to wait until RoK release, or try the french version theroy. It works, or it did work, and it may not work anymore as SOE will eventually have to bring the French Servers to LU39 since RoK is right around the corner, and it includes that in with it.
Best of luck to which ever way you choose to go.
