Zexis's Bug Report

Zexis, I was looking over your bug report:
When a mob leashes on Live, you get a message to the effect of "blahblahblah is no longer worth any experience." This doesn't happen here. When a mob leashes, the encounter just breaks without a message. (If you like I can get you the exact leashing message from live.)

Yes please :)

Also, if the NPC is grouped, is there a different message? I remember there being a message like "This encounter is no longer worth any rewards" or something.

Yes, the message is something very close to what you posted, however I am not positive if each mob in the encounter pops a message. I will check tonite for you and will post my results.

I think if it's an encounter it'll say something like "This encounter is no longer worth any rewards." and each mob will show a leash message.
Can't remember though, so you guys might want to check on live.

Scat, I wonder if it would benefit us to start creating plain text messaging (like this) in the database, for multi-language support? I highly doubt if we say "You have fallen and died" in english hard-coded in the server that it will translate to German for us automatically ;)

Just a thought.

My server would so say "You died, bitch! Stand up and be a real man!"

I happen to know for a fact that message "You have fallen and died." is actually part of the UI. Some custom UI developers for fun change this message to things like "You suck at this game. Go back to playing WoW." and stuff like that.

I can tell you that if you look in the UIBuilder, you'll see data objects. These are the tidbits of information that is streamed to the client and translated into the UI for the player to see (such as hit points, class, race, level, guild level, xp, etc.). What excites me about this, is that you can create custom data objects and build windows to display information streamed from the server. This ability to customize data objects is the basis for my Admin Panel, which I will complete when the official database is released.

Hope this helps :)
