Login rejected?

Hi there,

Please keep in mind when reading this that I'm doing this for my husband who is looking to play on his own server. He's not looking to log in to anyone else's. My husband will not have internet access. So I've extracted everything from the serverpack folder to my root directory. I've run all three batch files. I've also changed the first line in the eq2_default file to reflect: cl_ls_address eq2emulator.net.

Then I go into my eq2 folder, which is basically c:\games\sony\everquest2 (I have vista and things don't run as well in program files, so all of my games are in a games folder as opposed to program files) and run everquest2 by using the 14,720 kb application. Is that the right one? Then I type in admin/admin. When I do that, I get: Login rejected. The client's version does not match the server's. Please re-run the patcher. I guess my current eq2 version is 6164L. So, do I need to downgrade? Is that possible? If I do downgrade and I want to play EQ2 online at some point, how do I do that without downloading the patches which will conflict with the emulator?

I think that's it for now. =P Ty so much for your time.

I'm not sure this is correct. I haven't looked at the server pack myself, but for a minilogin, you shouldn't need to connect to the internet at all. I think this needs to be localhost or the IP of your internal network server. The instructions in the pack should tell you what this should be.

This is definitely wrong. The latest version supported by the Emulator is 6122L. 6164L is the streaming client, and is not compatible with the Emulator.

It's not possible to downgrade - especially if you have the streaming client. The streaming client is missing about 9 gigs of files that are needed for the Emu to work. The only thing you can do at this point is to install using the Rok or TSO box set.

On top of that, the ServerPack has not been updated to support the latest clients for some time (too many server crash issues). The AdminGuide located in the docs folder would tell you what the latest client is.

That said, I've been trying to get a ServerPack 1.2 tested and ready, just too much to do at the moment. Hopefully you have a little time left to get this setup for your husband. I am all about supporting our troops! :) (even if it is just a silly emulator heh)

I recommend you use my program to obtain the latest obtainable client, located here:

Not sure if I should start a new thread for this or not, but here goes. =P
I went to another laptop and downloaded the EQ2 files from the link suggested by link2009: viewtopic.php?f=58&t=650.

I don't know what version of EQ2 this is and if it's compatible with the emulator. So, that's question number one in a sense. Is this the appropriate/compatible eq2 version for the emulator? Our station accounts are about 10 years old as they're the same as when we started playing eq1. If I had the discs, I would just do a reinstall, but after the first (the initial pre-expansion) installation, we did all digital downloads. So, I'm having issues finding an eq2emulator-compatible version. Next, I have changed the default ini file address line to reflect 127.0.0.1. Then when I go to start up eq2, I go into the everquest2 folder and run the everquest2 app from there. I get it saying trying server #1 and then it says no connection can be found.

Also, did I miss a step or something? I noticed when I run the world server file I have no Armor/Shield Piece(s), no Skill Item(s), 1 regular item, 4 spells, etc. Is there something else I'm supposed to run?

Thank you!

I will PIM you in a second.

Also, make sure you run the other application called 'Minilogin', which runs a login server on your local computer instead of using the eq2emulator.net one. I could not find the link for the tool but it should be here somewhere.
