[URGENT] World refusing connections

There is something very, very wrong with the new(er) versions of EQ2World - and I have no idea where the breakdown occurred. I spent most of Friday night and Saturday entirely, trying to get World and Minilogin to be happy together again, and every single time I tried to connect, I was stuck at "connecting to zone server". My world reported the AddAuth, and that's it. I'd get bounced back to Login.
If I tried again right away, I usually could get in but then I could not zone.
While sitting here working on the QC/OO repop, I happened to notice a player trying like hell to connect - and getting the same thing I have been having. I ran EQ2World.exe in Release mode this afternoon, and since then, 0 successful connections. I tried myself, and same thing as with Minilogin -
so I am now officially removing Minilogin as a suspect.
Furthermore, when I compile Tess and run in Debug, connections work perfectly fine.
World has been getting a ton of changes lately, including some structure changes and our new opcode range. I'd like someone with some know-how to really dig into the opcodes for the 1011 + 6196L client, and verify that SOE did not in fact change the data, while leaving the data version still at 1011 - which they have been known to do.
Something has changed, and we do not have the luxury of having a dead server right now. LE is far too busy to get us through this, so we're on our own

Whatever you need from me, you got it.

I'm having the same issue. I can login and create an account but when it gets to connecting to the zone server it times out and bounces me back to the login screen. I thought at first it was my configs since I complied the source instead of using the server pack but I tried that to and got the same results. My client is the TSO boxset which is client version 5040. I've searched the forum and haven't found a definitive answer if that client is compatible with the emulator. Any suggest toward fixing this problem would be greatly appreciated.

I can confirm this... I thought it was just me until someone else on my server complained, but when I log in the first time is get " Adding client from xx.xx.xx.xx " on the console and then it times out. Second time I actually get in. Sometimes it takes me five or six attempts before it allows me in.

Yeah, Urgent.
Hope we find time to fix it soon. I cannot express the level of frustration I am feeling over this issue.
I have discovered (I think) if you compile in Debug, it will work. So that in itself might be a clue.

I'm assuming you're using Visual Studio for compiling. Visual Studio uses 2 different dlls for debug and release mode. If I recall correctly, release mode doesn't have the dependent files that are in the debug folder unless you specifically tell the program to include them when compiling the final executable. One thing you can do, is compare the files in the debug folder to those in the release folder and see what's missing. In order to rule out the possibility of necessary files missing, you could copy the missing files from the debug to the release folder and run the executable and see if it runs normally.

I don't compile... I just use the win32 binary from SVN (since the win64 has fallen into disuse...)

I normally compile so I will give that a try. I used the server pack to rule out if I was doing something wrong.
OK...I gave that a try and I still had the same issue.

Alright, just to expand on this...
I just tried to /zone into a zone that wasn't running on my server and I got kicked off. World didn't start the zone. Now when I try to log in it immediately kicks me back to char select and doesn't even try to start the zone I am in. I had to change that zoen to always start and restart world to get in. Even then it took 9 attempts to get back in.

Hmm... even went zoning into a active zone you get stuck at contacting zone server... this is getting progressively worse.

Sorry man, LE has a 64 bit machine, I don't. Once I do I'll be happy to compile the 64bit binaries for you. Until then, you're SOL.
Anyways, this is a big issue so I'll look into it tomorrow.

We can still compile x64 on x86 machines, we just need all the x64 dependencies. I'll try and get that configured this week, or we should remove the x64 binary - since it's so out of date, it'll just mess up with the current data structures anyway.

I can confirm that this is indeed what happens when you try to zone. Since it happens with all clients, I'm gonna have to lean towards it being a world code issue.

Zexis, which client are you using? I cannot reproduce this. I get in first try every time and zoning has worked just fine as well.
Edit:
And are you talking about minilogin?

Not sure if you saw other posts, but this happens in RELEASE mode compile, not DEBUG. And it happens in both Live AND minilogin.
The "refusing connections". I'm not concerned about Zcoretri's /zone issue til we can get the connection part worked out. IMO, far more critical.
It is a 100% reproducible (on my machine

using TessEQ2 in Release. You have remote access. Give it a try.

it was client 6196.
