[BUG] Vitality usage

Post by John Adams » Sun Apr 04, 2010 1:23 pm

While I was testing the new zone xp_modifier, I noticed that at times I would kill 2-3 mobs in a row and get the exact same XP - though my Vitality should have been dropping with each kill. Talked briefly with Scatman, and we think it may be because whatever loop updates a players current Vitality might not fire but once a minute or so. If that's the case, you could effectively earn more XP by killing faster before your vitality gets updated.

I'm sure players won't have a problem with this, but we should at least look into it to see if we can manage that better... though we are in agreement, for an Emu world, it's a low priority.

Along with this, does anyone know the exact amount of Vitality one earns while playing EQ2Live? Is it like 2% per hour, 10% per day, what? Our current rate of accrual is .5% every hour, and we feel that is too low.

I do believe live is the same rate. .5% an hour. They wanted it so it would take approximately a week to hit 100% vitality.

Really? I thought it took only like about 5 days
.5% an hour comes out to 8.3 days to go from 0 to 100% vitality

It's possible that if you are logged out there is a different rate (perhaps 1%, no more), however when logged in it is definately .5%. I checked it out tonite.

I think it's .5% per hour offline and even less if you're online. At least that is what I remember from the ROK days :)

I don't know the numbers but I know for sure the rate is less when playing than when online

Multiple, and I mean MULTIPLE damned real life problems have took me away for long! now things looks like are settled and now I'm coming here to try to help a bit, as I'm playing live yet :)
I've been following progress since I left so I know the actual state of the emu. I only didn't had the motivation to enter and write anything. Good work!
