I installed TSO last night and logged into the TessEQ2 server last night. Great job so far!

I have been an everquest player since 1999 and played around a bit with the eq1 emulator. I decided to look into this one last night and am very interested in helping out as best i can.

Please let me know what I can do to help out. I have a bit of programming experience, but probably not enough to help out with coding. However I will download the server code today and check things out.

Looking forward to seeing how this project shapes up over the coming months and years.

I will be signing up to the live servers again in a week or less and could help out a lot with capturing packets and just anything in general. I'm not sure how things will work since the latest update though, they really changed some things with player stats etc.

Anyway, I'll be here to help if anyone needs me!!

Michael

Welcome Michael!

We appreciate any help you are willing to provide! Take a look at the server code and if you believe you understand it enough to contribute as a developer, let us know! Our Devs are very good about teaching each other the intricacies of the code. If you have any questions, let us know!

I downloaded the code and have a server up called Tigerstudios. This is just local to my LAN right now, I am running Windows 7 and also running WindowsXP in a VirtualBox image. I have the server setup in the WinXP VM. I have to set my router up to forward anything server related to my XP VM. Is port 9000 the only port I have to forward to have it running?

Also, I am setting up my dev env with the source code, just got zlib files and MySQL files.

I'll keep you all posted on my progress.

What Forum should I be posting this info on ? I'm sure not the introduction forum :)

Thanks,

Michael

I believe you may need 9001 and 9002 as well.

Hello Mr Hodes! Welcome to the community.

Your Dev info should either be posted at Windows Servers. Or at Eq2 Discussions. Either will be fine, as it's related to a server, or our project.

Feel free to ask any more questions, glad to have you around!
