Hello, I must admit I have never followed these forums nor have I ever set my eye on an "EQ2" Emu project. However, I have had experience with WoW(Yes I know, I'm sure everyone here hates it, as do I). I've also messed around with Aion, and parts of Eq1.

I started Eq when I was about 10, I stopped when BC came out for WoW. I got sick of it and that's when I started creating "Private servers" for mmo's alike. I must admit C++ is a hard concept but once gotten used to can be very handy for all sorts of things. I personally like LUA better due to the fact well...It's just easier haha. I learned Lua first than moved on to C++. I also know the normal stuff as in Java,Html, etc etc.

I must admit I'm not sure where I should be posting an application or something of the kind but I figure if you guys still needed the help..This topic would be a good place to start. If it's not, than I apologize. If someone could direct me to where I need to go to sign up, or let me talk to someone about lending a helping hand I'd be more than happy.

None the less-- Cheers guys, I hope everyone works out for the Eq2emu Project =]

Welcome Razor, good to see another Developer around. I moved you on over to introductions, our whole team here reads all of the introductions and it's as good a place as any to apply. We'll see what we can do for you!

Welcome to the madhouse. :)

It's nice to see another programmer interested in the project!

If you're interested in doing C++, simply grab the source code, look at our project status for what needs to be done, or our bug list for what needs to be fixed, and for the first few fixes post "diff" files for any changes you make to the code submissions forum. After you feel comfortable with C++, I'll add you to SVN commit rights so you can change the code officially.

For LUA/Scripting, join the Content Design team - though during this month of May 2010, Content Design is in a holding pattern while we decide what our future holds (ie., our dev DB is empty, waiting to start fresh)

Many thanks, I must admit I didn't expect a reply so soon.

As for what I'm interested in, I'm just looking to help out. I'm certainly no C++ Guru but I know a little more than just basics. As I posted earlier, I'm much better with LUA. I have no problems doing either but if my skills in C++ to not come to par with what is required here than that's obviously understandable. I'll help out in anyway I can.

Again, thanks for the quick reply's guys. I look forward to talking with you all more.

Hey Razor, consider yourself applied and part of the team :P

As John said, grab the source code, look at the project status/bugs and fix anything you can. Then put your changes into the submissions section, keep that up and we'll let you commit your changes to the SVN.

that's kinda why i like javascript, but more due to the fact well... no self-modifying code with going out of array bounds. hehe
