WoW... just WoW

Apparently, WoW has implemented displaying your IRL Name on all your forum posts. Furthermore, game mods allow anyone to see your IRL Name just by scrolling over your name in-game.

IRL Names
...in-game RealID has been implemented and the "friend of a friend" feature is not optional. This means if I friend you, anyone you "friend" with RealID will be able to see my real life name. There is no way to turn-off or disable "friend of friend".
friend of a friend??? OMFG!!! I can turn this off in Facebook - and I did. In EQ2, I told some friends my name, but that certainly doesn't mean I want all their friends to know it.

btw: my IRL Name is Eradani Berachah ... that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
my client version: 12682L, 2016/06/06
last one that will run on XP cause i'm just a stick-in-the-mud

Just FYI Star Craft II is like that also. I tried to remove my full name from the website and I can't even change it. So much for entering that honestly years ago.
