I have found (as did others) that you can not equip a weapon. To be fair, I only tried a paladin and a shadowknight. Neither one could equip either a one handed or two handed sword. What I found was that neither class had the sword skill in the database.

I added this skill to the char and that fixed the issue, but we will want them to start out with the skill. I haven't spent a lot of time in the database but I didn't see where the skills are assigned at char creation.

Who can/should update that in the main database, and do we have a list of each weapon type by class. It seems obvious most of the time on who gets what but......

If we have a list, I'd be willing to work on an sql statement to update the appropriate classes with their skills if needed.


Note: I did this using the EQ2Emulator Server Pack v1.2. I assume this is the latest but you know what they say about ass-u-me.

But the table you are looking for is the starting_skills table.

Who can? You can! Just join the team, and you can enter data directly into our Dev DB for our next release.

We had some people working on starting_items and skills, but since many Items things changed in SF, we kinda stopped any Items work pending an analysis of the new data.
