My set up using Sentinel's Fate... Pay close attention!!!

Setting up using Sentinel's Fate... Pay close attention if your going to use this!!!
Are you as tired as I am of installing Sentinel's Fate and patching back hoping it works? Well if you've had problems with creating characters after installing Sentinel's Fate in the past with Marketplace locks on everything from character creation to inventory etc. Just follow these instructions to eliminate those problems and enjoy playing like you've installed The Shadow Odyssey (unpatched).

~~~~~~~INSTRUCTIONS~~~~~~~
Install The Shadow Odyssey out of the box (Not Patched!) Explanation forth coming.
Install Sentinel's Fate (Not Patched!)
Make a copy of both installs prior to doing anything (very important).
Patch only Sentinel's Fate to Live, that's right to Live using EQ2.exe (not the launcher 11/15/2010)
Find and run EQ2EmulatorPatcher by Image in his Terrific Post: http://eq2emulator.net/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 35&start=0 [Post states NOT SUPPORTED DON'T ASK] point install to "EverQuest2.exe" in your Sentinel's Fate folder and patch it to Build 6118L.
Okay, now that we've made it this far...
Edit your file: eq2_default.ini as described by John Adams in his Awesome Post: http://eq2emulator.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=2363 EQ2Emulator ServerPack 1.2 Release.
Run "EverQuest2.exe" ONE TIME ONLY and LOG IN! Once logged in DO NOT CREATE A CHARACTER and EXIT the game before attempting to do anything else.
Here is the list of files in your Sentinel's Fate folder that now need to be Deleted:
[folder] cache
[folder] logincache-us
[file] alertlog.txt
[file] assetslib.vpl
[file] ui.log
Now to copy some files over before doing anything else, From The Shadow Odyssey game folder (Again NOT PATCHED):
[copy from The Shadow Odyssey to Sentinel's Fate folder replacing file]
[file] UIBuilder.zip (to main folder - this is the only file in the main folder needing replaced)
[copy from The Shadow Odyssey/UI/Default folder to Sentinel's Fate/UI/Default folder replacing files and folders]
Copy EVERYTHING in The Shadow Odyssey/UI/Default folder EXCEPT THE FOLLOWING FOUR FILES (You will replace everything in Sentinel's Fate/UI/Default with these files EXCEPT AGAIN THE FOLLOWING FOUR FILES):
JUST IN CASE YOU THINK TO DO SO... DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING IN THE DESTINATION FOLDER YOU ARE OVERWRITING ONLY OR YOU WILL BE MISSING DATA!!!
DO NOT COPY OVER THESE:
[file] eq2ui_journals.xml
[file] eq2ui_journals_active.xml
[file] eq2ui_journals_quest.xml
[file] eq2ui_popup_claim.xml
~~~~~~~End of Instructions~~~~~~~

If you can't get Sentinel's Fate working following these instructions DO NOT PM ME!

Main Map and Mini Map don't show well and opening your inventory is only working in bank even though you can open all bags. Temporary resolution run to bank open bank and yes inventory will open fine here.

I hope this helps some more people get on board helping and avoids a total revamp.

EDIT:
PS, This setup allows you to use Sentinel's Fate Patched to Live WITHOUT THOSE FREAKING LOCKED OUT CHARACTER PACKAGES! God I hate that shit!

PSS, ilythor I would have sent you a PM but it looks like I cannot PM from my mailbox. o.O Anyhow maybe someone can review this is the appropriate location. Thanks again for all your help lately.

Wow, finally got an official tutorial for this. I'll add it to the WIKI asap! Otherwise this is a good a place as any! Consider it stickied!

PS I did actually get a message from you, but it said you deleted it before it arrived. Maybe that was the bug you were talking about.

It showed in my outbox, never my sent folder, I just assumed it hadn't went anywhere. My fault. I know that deleting the outbox email makes the actual email poof now. rofl :lol:

What's funnier is we've had this bug for a very long time, my guess since prior to my account creation (Tue Jan 15, 2008 11:46 am) because I've always had this issue lol. I used to write PM's to Lethal and would see it sitting in my outbox and just delete it. So there's a good reason why I only ever seen 2 PM's from him and most of our conversations were elsewhere lol.

phpBB3 -

Outbox means it's waiting to be received, not delivered.
Sent means they received it and it is no longer sitting in their inbox unread.

It's not a bug, but how you can recall a message once you realize what you said will piss them off :D j/k
