EQ2: TSO (boxed) is freezing after connecting to server

hi, anytime i connect to eq2emu server, game will freeze in max 1 minute, does anyone have the same problem? (windows 7 x64)

//EDIT : same problem in windows xp 32bit (home edition, SP2)

The 6118L client should work with current dev 0.7 code. That's what we use daily. If it's crashing, something else must be wrong.

As for 5040, it is buggy out of the box, which is why our Client Patcher tool offers you an option to jump to 5122. Give that a try too, though I still recomment 6118L for now.

thanks for answering... well, i tried 6118, but game crashes when logging into server (wil l try with 0.6.5 -> 0.7-dev is kinda not working)...

in 5040 -> 5122 upgrade, is replacing EverQuest2.exe enough?

//edit - i have only 5040 version legally and i dont really know where to get 6118

If all you have is 5040, then the 5122 Patched should get you into 0.7-dev, too. I am currently logged into my dev world (0.7) with a 5040 (unpatched) client, and the game at least lets me in. It will likely crash after moving around, because that is the issue with 5040 itself.

Patching to 5122L should alleviate that problem. I will do a little more testing with these older clients today, see if anything can be made better.

Btw, what locale are you running? English? I see you are not in the US, so I wonder if your non-English client could be different? Guessing.

The closest to 6118L you can get legaly is the Sentinel's Fate Collectors Edition (regular should be the same version but i'm not 100% sure since the collectors edition was only $10 and the regualr was $13 from amazon) which is version 6120L which you can use the patcher to back patch it to 6118L which is the one i use mostly but i also have a pacthed 5040 -> 5122L which i also use from time to time.

xinux: on amazon, sentinel's fate is selling for 0.01$ (but 10$ postage), i've just bought TSO, so i dont wanna buy another version

John: yes, English... im not from US nor england (czech republic), i have french version of game (same as english, but different cover :) )

will try 5122 exe today, thanks
