Qeynos starting zone and are you guys keeping it?
Hey guys, I was running a character through the Queynos island and would like to add that the quest lines go rather smooth until you try to pick up the sticks for the Predator Sha'dur and when doing the parchment scraps quest from deianara. Both come to a dead end and from there on out the only option is to grind, and the quests just make it go a bit quicker.
I was also wondering if you guys are even keeping those two zones, since they are not kept on live.
I kinda hope you guys keep them, even though the newer ones give better stuff.

Re: Qeynos starting zone and are you guys keeping it?
We're planning to populate every zone we have data for, including the older ones. The ultimate dream of EQ2Emulator is that it supports not only current Live content, but that people can use our sources of data to run "Classic" EQ2 servers eventually.
As long as SOE leaves the *.pak files in their current client, we should always have access to them. If they get removed, then accessing the old zones will require an older client.

@JA: Do you have some logs (maybe LE parse it a long long long long time ago) of the boat tutorial (before spawn in Queen Colony / FP Colony)?

We have no logs before July 2007, and even those are sparse. LE did not collect content, as much as functionality. And from 2007-2008, 90% of the content collected for Milestone 1 was done by my (ex) g/falfa wrote:So you not wainting for EQII Classic :pChrisworld wrote:yeah but i started playing back in the summer of 2007 so I like not only the old 1-50 content but those zones too.

You will have to build your own Boat Tutorial zones by hand, which will not be all that difficult, if anyone remembers the scripts. My character (born on Nov 11, 2004) has the quests still in his knowledge book from the boat. But they are completed, of course, so I do not have the steps still.

Well I'm remember Quest in general talk with one, get the cap, chose a box (WHAT IN THE BOXXX ??)
I will try to find maybe some movie on YouTube for dialog and npc names.
When I can log in (soooooonnnnn :p) I will try to find the zone

Pretty sure they are all the same NPCs. Waulon, Ingrid, Vim, some little gnome dude, and Captain Varlos. Oh and Helmsman Nyles.
I remember there being rats, then chasing a gobbie around, and then the Drakota attack.
The zone is still in our DB, too.

Re: Qeynos starting zone and are you guys keeping it?
I didn't play then but I'm sure I know a couple of people that would be able to recall the original starting zones. As far as I'm concerned with classic, I was raised on the level 1-50 content on the eq2 classic box client, that to me is classic enough. Half of it doesn't even exist anymore or is changed dramatically, anyway, that's why it's basically classic at this point.
I still look over at that box with heavy feelings of video game nostalgia.... sigh
I would be happy enough to get all that content, perfected, working, playable and then start deleting stuff from the DB of my repack (or whatever will run a personal server at that point) that connects to any other part of the eq2 world that isn't part of any of the original content areas, then fine tweak stuff in the areas. I could still have some fun times with friends re lived again.
