DoV Client goes Official

All,
In light of this post in the Client Compatibility thread, I wanted to remind everyone that we're not blocking the older clients access at all... just not developing new functionality to support those older clients. Anyone outside the Core Dev team (community members, content designers, testers) are more than welcome to take the code and figure out how to keep these older clients compatible, but our main team is focused only on the future from here out.
Developers:
What this means is we are to continue our efforts building as complete an emulator as possible based on the DoV (7628-1096) client version, and not leap ahead towards AoD just yet. New discoveries made in AoD packet collecting (Xinux) are now accepted as part of our ongoing efforts in opcodes/structs, but I do not want an entire team shift into AoD compatibility just yet. There is nothing in the AoD game we require right now that isn't already in DoV, so let's stay focused.
Content Designers:
We need to start populating the new database, as we only have a few months to replace DB Milestone 1 content with the re-designed content. I don't want players getting bored of the same 10 levels they've had to play for the last 2 years. Time to provide something new, and a revamped GFay, Timorous and Neriak, added to new Halas content should provide that.
Players:
We will let you know when the new server code and content are on our Test Center server. Many server-side revamps are taking place to better the efficiency of our server, so nearly everything will need to be tested over time. You can get a good idea what is ready by looking over our ProjMan (project manager) app, and checking the Bug Reports already submitted and assigned.
Once again, I want to thank everyone for their continued interest in this project, both on the dev and player side. Everything you do helps with our progress. Keep up the good work
