Version 0.4 Released!

Post by LethalEncounter » Mon Nov 19, 2007 3:24 pm

This version allows clients to connect to the server even though they might have a different version of the client. The supported versions are: 4523L (current live client as of Nov 18th), 4427L, and 4412. Just a reminder, DO NOT PATCH. If you patch again you will not be able to play the emu. The changelog is below:
==11/19/2007
LethalEncounter: Fixed all the memory leaks in the code. (there were A LOT)
LethalEncounter: World will now display a title indicating the number of clients/zones when running on windows.
LethalEncounter: Fixed several crash bugs related to the multiversion implementation.
LethalEncounter: Updated structs for the new live client.
LethalEncounter: The emu will now be able to support more than one client version at a time again. The versions supported are 4523L, 4427L, and 4412.
LethalEncounter: Login wont let you connect with an invalid version anymore.
LethalEncounter: Fixed some misc bugs with login.
LethalEncounter: Mostly fixed the bug where you hang on Loading Entities on Login server. It still happens occasionally, but not often.
LethalEncounter: Login will now allow you to create a Sarnak if you are using versions 4412 or 4427.
LethalEncounter: Zones will automatically shut down after 5 minutes without a client.
LethalEncounter: Fixed some bugs with PacketStructs.

Is there a still possibility to be able to connect?

Make a new post in the general support forum with the error you are getting when you try to connect. 4521L should still work fine.

LethalEncounter - Thanks! I'll be checking the client tonight, and hopefully I'll try the server over the holiday.
Polygon - Unfortunately with the new expansion out, they are updating a lot right now. I just checked today, and the client is up to 4525L. Three versions in 4 days.
Looks like my being overcautious paid off this time.

Other than what chrroxx has stated, unless you made a copy of your installation of the specific version there is no way to 'downgrade'.

I strongly encourage everyone to re-read this thread:
http://eq2emulator.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5
Specifically:
Warez and other Illegal File Methods
We do not support software piracy here. This goes for any content is not provided by this site (Eq2Emulator.net). You may not ask for, provide, or support illegal file activites, which means dont request Game files of any nature. Users are at thier own discretion on how they obtain their files, but it is to not be brought up here on this site. This also goes for asking about "Back Patching".
Consequences to any infraction on this will result in a immediate ban.
Personally, I would enjoy seeing the latter enforced a little more, since some people clearly cannot read or understand forum rules, which are there to protect both the project and the community.
I don't care if you're 8 or 90 years old, French, Chinese or from Mars. These rules are clear and concise. Why is it so hard to understand?
