DoV Crash on character entering world

I did do a search, and I saw someone mention that only 2 zones worked for him, I tried that one..

I downloaded the Ready to Go Server pack from John Adams (Version 1.3)

I went out and bought the Destiny of Velious Box set.
Installed to a seperate folder, made a copy of that folder.
Changed .ini by removing the addresses it provides with 127.0.0.1 and removed the line at the bottom as well.
Attempted login and got the expected Incorrect version, YAY, improvement from my previous attempts.
Downloaded EQEmu patcher, selected 7628L (in windowed mode says that as well) and it patched.
When I log in as ADMIN/ADMIN there is a premade character, I used him and got into the world, went to windowed mode to get client version 7628L
HOWEVER anywhere from immediately to 2 minutes later it freezes and I have to cancel process because it is not responding.
I also made another character, same issue. Although as a fae I did hear an NPC say help us before it froze up.
Also the character select screen shows multiple instances of each character as logged in...
I select one it says already logged in, I select the other (same name) it logs me in.

Forgive me if I missed anything you may need to help me, just ask and I will provide.

EDIT:
Ok, I managed to on at least 1 occasion to stay logged in for a few minutes and I had NPCs then they disappeared, tried another character and the ones that stayed would not 'talk' to me when hailed. no attacks would work either, sword pulled but wouldn't do any attacking.

I read how to set up the server but not the change log...says -
Client 6118L support! Older clients also compatible, but Sentinel's Fate or Destiny of Velious are not compatible yet! Sorry!.
DAMN!
I bought the wrong expansion pack to play!

However I thought I read that DoV was the only support version now??

When you patch DoV you need to download an updated ui as well, there was a link on the forums some where or I can upload one later if you can't find the link. The UI will cause freezing/crashing if it is not updated wich sounds like your problem.

Here rename your current UI folder and use this one instead with your DOV client.

Done...I think it is still the issue that this client isn't fully supported yet :(

You can try getting the latest binaries and structs from the public SVN (link on the left) there were new ones commited a couple days ago it will have dov support. DoV is still being coded for however and there still remain a few issues we are trying to work out.

Just get the files and replace them?
I am using the '1 click server' so not sure if that will work?

EDIT:
I did get the EQDB and scripts, just replaced the ones but no real difference.
I am in the world longer now however I can't attack anything or zone... improvement!
Should I be using the ADMIN/ADMIN account?
If not how do I modify the minilogin to add another account?

Read Section 6 of the ServerPack Admin Guide. With current SVN binaries (EQ2World.exe is all you should need) you should be able to update off our live DB Patcher and DoV will be as compatible as we currently have it. You should not have to buy an SF client anymore, though as it was said, DoV is still only partially compatible (it was a big change).

Don't forget the XMLs too, from /trunk/structs

I created a login account on your servers however no matter what character I choose I get the you already have a character in the world try again in a few minutes error...

I use the EQ2EMUpatcher, is that the database patcher also?

Getting the updated XMLs now...

Thanks for your help...will see if this works better..
Each step is progress so far!

EDIT:
I created a world server, and attempted to make the changes, to update the DB
The XMLs, how do I update those? when i goto the SVN it opens the web page with the script, not a file to d/l and replace...

(My worldserver is saying starting autoinit loginserver thread...how do I knwo if the DB is updated? That I did it correctly....)

Ok, I igured out the SVN thing I think..
I selected the file on PC, right click, select tortoise...then enter the HTPS, then select the same XML file, and choose checkout then it updates that file on my PC.
Now I reran the servers 1 and 3 and it is doing a bunch of replacement things now so I think it is updating my stuff...

Seems I'm not as ingenious as I thought!

I logged into 127.0.0.1 and deleted opcodes from EQ2LS and copied the EQ2world opcodes and put that new file into the EQ2LS

When I run the first BAT, no problem.
2nd BAT, no problem.
3rd BAT I get Connected to login server 127.0.0.1:9100
E World: Login Server returned a fatal error: Incorrect version Disabling reconnect.
I did follow the Step 6 directions exactly as I could figure them out.

In the login server DB you need to add an entry in the table login_version for the new version of world to be able to connect. Just add 0.7.1-dev and the login server should allow the server to connect and stay connected.

So I found the EQ2ls database, I found the login_versions and it is missing 0.7.1-dev
Question is, how do I add it, doesn't seem to be too easy to figure out for never having used SQL

MySQL db not the files, I am not familiar with how the 1 click server sets every thing up, but you will need to alter your MySQL DB with either a DB editor (such as HeidiSQL) or with command's in cmd.exe. I would recomend the DB editor as it is easier to work with, imo.

EDIT: Judging by the screen shots it looks like MySQL starts up when you run the 1 click server so you will have to run it for the DB editors to work, just an FYI

Yup, did that, used Heidi and added line 3 (actually line 4 but starts at 0)
and tried 0.7.1-dev and 0.7.1 and still get the same error...

0.7.1-dev should work

Weird...
I used your settings and changed my order from 0,1,2,3 and the versions out of order to 1,2,3,4 with .6 up and added .7-dev as well and now it appears to work...
I logged into queens colony, seems as stated the game has issues but appears to be OK for now...
I think I might have a few tables not updated...
I thought I updated per the guide John mentioned earlier (it is in his server pack)...

(Like why do I need a million XP at lvl 1??) hahahaha....
