When loading my character on the EQ2Emulator server I get this message..
"EverQuest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown.
<verify> E:\live\eq2\game\client\src\GameScene.cpp (4096):
Failed to create zone. Suggestion: Please do a full scan from the patcher."
Any ideas?

Yes, i got the exactly same error beofre.
Infos: Im using the Saturday (17. Nov) version 4521L.
Now, when i try to log in i get this message:
"Everquest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown.
<verify> E:\live\eq2\game\client\src\ClienNet.cpp (532):
i_retval == Z_OK
This error occurs when loading a zone (in my situation the login-zone, where to create a character)

Are you guys using the most current version of the emulator. Version 0.4 supports most new clients prior to Nov 18. Give them a shot and see how things work.
If you are using the newest version, your more than likely getting some errors that from this point foward im calling "Alpha Bugs" and therefor, once LE gets back and examines them, he can track down what packets are causing the errors and fix things on the server side.

Confirmed --
There is definitely something up with certain accounts. I have 2 accounts that I normally connect to from my computer (4427L), and one account I connect to via another computer, also running 4427L. Nothing has changed since the first night I was able to connect to my first EQ2Emu server, however the second computer "account" no longer can connect. Gets the exact error above.
If I create a new account, it works on that same computer. So the reports of accounts going bad appears to be true, to some extent.
FWIW, I clear the cache folder usually everytime I log in, so I do not think that's causing a problem.

I think its safest to delete old characters and start with new ones I have had no problems after doing this.

I've deleted and made new characters, but I still have the same problem.
I guess I'll need to wait till LE gets back :-D

I had the same message when zoning into a zone from RoK. When you create a new character, try using Qeynos or Freeport as start city.

This is caused by not having the correct zone files in the paks directory. More than likely you don't have the files at all for the zone you are trying to log in to, but it could also be caused by an incorrect version of the zone files for the client you are playing. If you do not have access to the database of the server you are out of luck unless you delete the character and start over (or you know the server admin). If you do have access to the db run the following sql query:

Code: Select all

update characters set current_zone='Antonica' where name='CHAR_NAME_HERE';
