Sure thing, a Mac OS tutorial would be something completely new. I moved your post to Support for now, because until you posted, we never actually supported a Mac OS (although it is just Linux I guess?) for EQ2Emu Server.

Write it up, and we'll get it on our Wiki. If it is just Linux under Mac OS, I guess this could be a Linux tutorial?

Hello there, technically this is supposed to be an austere Mac OS X tutorial, since its based upon wineskin winery which is on purpose is for OS X, still there should be the way for Linux or other UX's users as well because generally its all based upon a wine project, also you have mind that correction that is all affected to my current software+hardware configuration so future result may vary you know, in depends on... :)
Cheers,

Well how it all starts,

Configuration: Mac OS X 10.6.8 (latest release of its series)
(!)I guess 10.7.x and 10.8.xx will go up just fine, still for productivity's sake i still haven't moved my machinery up to,
(!) as for other Unixes I believe if you possess any good graphic card+properly update drivers it'll be going without any probs as well :D
ATI HD4600 (yes and its good)
RAM 4 GiGs 1333 MHz DDR3 (quite enough though)
CPU: 3.06 GHz Intel Core i3

1. Go grab winery from out there http://wineskin.urgesoftware.com/tiki-i ... =Downloads
its legal and free no worries ,
2. Run winery and download engine:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us
3. Create a New Blank Wrapper
- wait till winery will worked it out
- release in Finder newly created wrapper, rename it as you wish: HackQuest ect..
- close winery and run your newly baked wrapper
- when it runs go do section advanced

fins Tools tab

Find and open Winetricks section

Select next dlls to install (this is mandatory)
corefonts
d3dx9
vcrun2005
vcrun2008
vbrun6
wininet
mono

4. The game opens large amount of file descriptors, therefore you must raise the security limit for your user:

On Mac OS X write into terminal:
sudo pico /etc/launchd.conf
and add there a line:

limit maxfiles 8192
Any system: Save files and reboot to make changes go in effects. Confirm if it works by writing into terminal:
ulimit -n
It should show the value which you set, in this example 8192.

okay for whom of yours who's keep it reading still, there is a final part: Installation and run
first of the foremost do not even use a patch utility (as it given out there http://eq2emulator.net/wiki/index.php/P ... To_Connect) NEVER
I am actually to test all issues out and post all results at bug's section, maybe key-guyz of EQ2EMu will lay a hand on it, I do not know.
Though what I do know is that, go grab a web-installer from out there:
http://www.everquest2.com/

Run your wineskin wrapper, select install software begin installation with using of we-be installer from SOE,
You have not wait till it soaks up all 16 gigs of course, that will be enough to grab first required 150 megs,
then, try it out with official servers to see if client will starts smoothly,
regularly at start I've encounter two errors that program returns for some unknown reason, just press 'Cancel' and pass away with paying no attention to that
it will run anyway,
Well once you see your client had started properly, and you are able to login and make a character within a game, its time to tweak up your precious INI file to hack it out into EQ2Emu lol
for this follow the 'Connecting' section from this topic:
http://eq2emulator.net/wiki/index.php/P ... To_Connect

some pics will be added soon
hope it helps!
